Ohio State Basketball Dominates Wisconsin

Going into Saturday’s matchup between the Wisconsin and Ohio State basketball teams in Columbus, I had previously written it may be a better option to get Brad Davison going early instead of having star forward Johnny Davis force shots. Well, Badger head coach Greg Gard must be a huge fan of the site, because that’s exactly what Wisconsin did. The senior had six of the Badger’s first 10 points. However, Buckeyes forward E.J. Liddell would not be denied and made a strong case that he is the best player in the Big Ten. Liddell finished with 28 points, nine rebounds and two blocks. Davis led the Badgers with 24 points on 50% shooting from the field, while Davison finished with 13.

Wisconsin jumped out to an early lead, as Davison was 2/2 from deep to start the game. With about 11 minutes left in the first half, Davison hit a jumper to put the Badgers up 19-11. However, the Buckeyes went on to go on a 12-0 run, which culminated with a Zed Key dunk in the post to put the Buckeyes up by 12. Ohio State never looked back.

Saturday’s win was the first over Wisconsin in Columbus since the 2016-17 season. Liddell had this to say after the win:

“When we run our stuff, I feel like we’re the best team in the nation easily.”

It was another disappointing performance from the Badgers, who squeaked out a win versus the Indiana Hoosiers earlier this week. With that being said, Johnny Davis is one of the best players in the country, and one of the best players Wisconsin has ever had. I expect the Badgers to continue to round into form as March Madness draws nearer.
