Taking a look at the notable fantasy football snap counts from every game in NFL Week 5.
What a strange week of football. We saw several double-digit comeback wins, while there were some blowouts as well. This unpredictable and oftentimes unreplicable game script can lead to a misinterpretation of the week that was. To gain further analysis from NFL Week 5, do not just look at the box scores, but review the fantasy football snap counts as well!

Notable Fantasy Football Snap Counts From Week 5
49ers vs Rams | NFL Snap Counts
San Francisco 49ers Snap Counts (86 Total)
- RB Christian McCaffrey (76)
- RB Brian Robinson Jr. (12)
- WR Demarcus Robinson (73)
- WR Kendrick Bourne (70)
- WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling (46)
- TE Jake Tonges (63)
- TE Luke Farrell (38)
Los Angeles Rams Snap Counts (68 Total)
- RB Kyren Williams (62)
- RB Blake Corum (6)
- WR Puka Nacua (63)
- WR Davante Adams (58)
- WR Tutu Atwell (45)
- WR Jordan Whittington (27)
- TE Davis Allen (41)
- TE Colby Parkinson (25)
The 49ers were decimated with injuries in the passing game. As a result, Demarcus Robinson and Kendrick Bourne led the receivers in snaps, while Jake Tonges continues to operate as the receiving TE with George Kittle out. It sounds like Kittle will miss one more week. With a whopping 86 offensive snaps, it was nice to see Christian McCaffrey play 76 of them, and it’s even nicer that he has gotten a few extra days off to rest. For what it’s worth, it sounds like we will see Mac Jones for at least another game, but probably more.
Apparently, people on Twitter dislike Kyren Williams much more than me, and the Rams for that matter. Despite a costly fumble, Williams dominated this backfield, with Blake Corum playing just six snaps. With Tyler Higbee out, Davis Allen and Colby Parkinson ran 24 and 14 of the 51 total routes, respectively. Rookie Terrance Ferguson continues to be brought along slowly, playing just four total snaps.
Vikings vs Browns | NFL Snap Counts
Minnesota Vikings Snap Counts (7665otal)
- RB Jordan Mason (43)
- RB Zavier Scott (14)
- RB Cam Akers (1)
- WR Justin Jefferson (65)
- WR Jordan Addison (49)
- WR Jalen Nailor (42)
- WR Adam Thielen (14)
- TE TJ Hockenson (55)
Cleveland Browns Snap Counts (70 Total)
- RB Quinshon Judkins (39)
- RB Jerome Ford (26)
- RB Dyland Sampson (7)
- WR Jerry Jeudy (63)
- WR Isaiah Bond (40)
- WR Jamari Thrash (28)
- TE David Njoku (67)
- TE Harold Fannin Jr. (55)
Even with a fumble, Jordan Mason dominated the Vikings’ backfield, showing how safe his job is without Aaron Jones. If you just look at the fantasy box score, you will see some points for Cam Akers. However, his lone snap was a trick play where he threw a touchdown. The other takeaway is not to panic about Jordan Addison’s dip in the fantasy football snap counts. He was benched in the first quarter, which would have been nice to know, due to missing a walkthrough and allegedly going to explore the city.
Damn, Quinshon Judkins is really good. That’s the main takeaway for Cleveland here. In Dillon Gabriel’s first start, not much else changed in terms of snaps. With Cedric Tillman out, Isaiah Bond operated as the WR2. Rookie TE Harold Fannin ran 20-of-36 routes, making David Njoku clearly more valuable week to week.
Texans vs Ravens | NFL Snap Counts
Houston Texans Snap Counts (70 Total)
- RB Woody Marks (27)
- RB Nick Chubb (24)
- RB Dameon Pierce (16)
- WR Xavier Hutchinson (47)
- WR Nico Collins (40)
- WR Jayden Higgins (39)
- WR Christian Kirk (34)
- WR Jaylin Noel (21)
- TE Dalton Schultz (41)
Baltimore Ravens Snap Counts (43 Total)
- RB Derrick Henry (28)
- RB Justice Hill (13)
- RB Keaton Mitchell (4)
- WR Zay Flowers (36)
- WR Rashod Bateman (35)
- WR DeAndre Hopkins (11)
- TE Mark Andrews (25)
- TE Isaiah Likely (23)
Don’t take anything from Nico Collins not leading the Texans WRs in snaps. The game was one-sided, so it was a great chance for Houston to get the rookies involved. In the backfield, Nick Chubb started the game and played better than Woody Marks. The rookie played in passing-down situations, but he will mix in on early downs as well.
There isn’t much to take away from this game for the Ravens, other than they have a ton of injuries, and it is apparent. Keaton Mitchell made his season debut, but he saw just four snaps. The top TEs essentially split the snaps as well, with Mark Andrews running 14 routes, while Isaiah Likely ran 11.
Raiders vs Colts | NFL Snap Counts
Las Vegas Raiders Snap Counts (68 Total)
- RB Ashton Jeanty (37)
- RB Raheem Mostert (32)
- WR Jakobi Meyers (60)
- WR Tre Tucker (60)
- WR Jack Bech (36)
- WR Dont’e Thornton (32)
- TE Ian Thomas (38)
- TE Albert Okwuegbunam Jr. (31)
Indianapolis Colts Snap Counts (66 Total)
- RB Jonathan Taylor (49)
- RB DJ Giddens (9)
- RB Ameer Abudullah (5)
- WR Michael Pittman Jr. (54)
- WR Ashton Dulin (47)
- WR Josh Downs (33)
- WR Anthony Gould (7)
- WR Adonai Mitchell (6)
- TE Tyler Warren (47)
- TE Mo Alie-Cox (35)
- TE Drew Ogletree (30)
The Raiders were missing Brock Bowers, and they got completely blown out. So, when looking at the fantasy football snap counts from Week 5, keep that in mind. Rookie Jack Bech saw his most playing time to date, splitting snaps in 3WR sets. As the season gets away from Vegas, we could see more snaps for these two rookie WRs. As far as their rookie RB goes, there was little need to put him in harm’s way, given how lopsided the game was.
The only thing of note for the Indianapolis Colts is their change in their WR depth. Due to last week’s fiasco, Ashton Dulin usurped Adonai Mitchell on the depth chart. To make a statement, they didn’t even put Mitchell in there when the game was clearly out of hand. Instead, they played several TEs and ran the ball a bunch. Alec Pierce could be back next week, and he would return as WR2.
Dolphins vs Panthers | NFL Snap Counts
Miami Dolphins Snap Counts (55 Total)
- RB De’Von Achane (48)
- RB Ollie Gordon (14)
- WR Jaylen Waddle (49)
- WR Nick Westbrook-Ikhine (39)
- WR Malik Washington (32)
- TE Darren Waller (32)
- TE Julian Hill (29)
Carolina Panthers Snap Counts (70 Total)
- RB Rico Dowdle (47)
- RB Trevor Etienne (14)
- RB DeeJay Dallas (12)
- WR Tetairoa McMillan (63)
- WR Xavier Legette (55)
- WR Hunter Renfrow (30)
- WR Jimmy Horn Jr. (19)
- TE Tommy Tremble (53)
In the first game without Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle turned in a good performance, and Darren Waller looks like a legitimate option in this offense. If the rest of the receiving corps’ performance was any indication, the only thing consistent will be the inconsistency. In the backfield, Ollie Gordon does not appear to be any threat to take away snaps from De’Von Achane.
Wow… Rico Dowdle. He touched the ball on over half of his snaps, and it was for good reason. Look for Carolina to feature him more if Chuba Hubbard misses more time. Xavier Legette returned to the lineup and was nearly an every-down player, and Jalen Coker is expected to be back within the next two weeks. Ja’Tavion Sanders was out in this game as well.
Giants vs Saints | NFL Snap Counts
New York Giants Snap Counts (73 Total)
- RB Cam Skattebo (50)
- RB Devin Singletary (23)
- WR Wan’Dale Robinson (69)
- WR Darius Slayton (55)
- WR Jalin Hyatt (34)
- Breaux Collins (28)
- TE Theo Johnson (60)
- TE Daniel Bellinger (38)
New Orleans Saints Snap Counts (66 Total)
- RB Alvin Kamara (37)
- RB Kendre Miller (26)
- WR Chris Olave (48)
- WR Rashid Shaheed (44)
- WR Brandin Cooks (30)
- WR Devaughn Vele (25)
- TE Juwan Johnson (56)
- TE Jack Stoll (25)
- TE Foster Moreau (23)
- TE Taysom Hill (9)
The Giants’ offense looks to find an identity without Malik Nabers, and they haven’t found it yet. Darius Slayton left in the fourth quarter with a hamstring injury, but he and Wan’Dale Robinson were the clear top WRs. Cam Skattebo continues to dominate the backfield, but after a costly fumble and Tyrone Tracy possibly returning next week, he could give up some work.
The Saints made it a point to run the ball in this game, and they used a variety of TEs on the field as a result. Both Foster Moreau and Taysom Hill returned at the position this week as well, meaning Juwan Johnson’s monopoly at TE is over. In the backfield, Alvin Kamara played a season-low 56% of the snaps. He is surrendering early-down work to Kendre Miller.
Cowboys vs Jets | NFL Snap Counts
Dallas Cowboys Snap Counts (60 Total)
- RB Javonte Williams (46)
- RB Jaydon Blue (11)
- WR George Pickens (47)
- WR Jalen Tolbert (46)
- WR Ryan Flournoy (34)
- TE Jake Ferguson (33)
- TE Luke Schoonmaker (33)
New York Jets Snap Counts (81 Total)
- RB Breece Hall (50)
- RB Isaiah Davis (33)
- WR Garrett Wilson (76)
- WR Josh Reynolds (60)
- WR Arian Smith (45)
- WR Allen Lazard (27)
- TE Mason Taylor (68)
The Cowboys were without CeeDee Lamb, Miles Sanders, and KaVontae Turpin in this game. As a result, Jaydon Blue made his season debut, but he made little noise. Ryan Flournoy saw increased snaps and played well with them, but he will need Turpin out longer to remain relevant.
Following a Breece Hall fumble, the Jets got completely shut down. So, most of the production you see from the Jets in this game, aside from Hall’s yards, came in garbage time. Because of this, there isn’t much to take from this game. Braelon Allen is likely out for the season, so Isaiah Davis takes over his snaps. Rookie Mason Taylor is also fully trusted in this offense, and they hope he can become a featured player.
