Taking a look at the notable fantasy football snap counts from every game in NFL Week 2.
If you have followed my fantasy football coverage for any point in time, you have heard me say the following: “Opportunity leads to productivity in fantasy football.” While many people simply look at the box score for the game, that only gives you half of the story. By checking out the fantasy football snap counts from NFL Week 2, we not only know how a player performed in this game, but we can also better project their roles going forward.
Last week, we saw how a catchless Cooper Kupp led the Seattle Seahawks in snaps. While many in the fantasy community called him washed, we said there was an obvious buy-low opportunity. In Week 2, Kupp totaled seven catches for 90 yards. This is just one of many examples, and it is why it is important to have access to this data early in the NFL year.
I also told you last week that it would be the only week I gave away all of this data and analysis for free. Out of respect and love for my paying members, I am sticking to that! So, below you can find half of the fantasy football Week 2 snap counts. If you want to win your fantasy league’s championship, I recommend you BECOME A MEMBER HERE! Notable Fantasy Football Snap Counts From Week 2
Commanders vs Packers | NFL Snap Counts
Washington Commanders Snap Counts (69 Total)
- RB Austin Ekeler (36)
- RB Jeremy McNichols (16)
- RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt (15)
Green Bay Packers Snap Counts (68 Total)
- WR Romeo Doubs (50)
- WR Matthew Golden (40)
- WR Dontayvion Wicks (37)
- WR Malik Heath (22)
- WR Savion Williams (11)
- WR Jayden Reed (5)
- TE Tucker Kraft (62)
- TE Luke Musgrave (21)
- TE John FitzPatrick (21)
Obviously, Austin Ekeler tore his Achilles tendon in this game, which likely means the end of his career. He has dominated snaps for Washington, but now that means a large opportunity is available. While rookie Jacory Croskey-Merritt looks likely to be the one carrying the ball the most, it is clear Washington has not trusted his pass protection to this point. Will that change? Maybe eventually. Will the Commanders sign someone like Jamaal Williams, who is notably outstanding in pass protection and running routes? It would be a wise move. I’m cautiously optimistic on JCM, though I have been far lower on him to this point.
On Green Bay’s side, Jayden Reed broke his collarbone early in the game. He will be out until at least November, and it opens up an opportunity for the rookie Matthew Golden. The rookie’s snaps increase here. While the box score looked bad, missed opportunities by Jordan Love and Golden himself caused this. The opportunity was there for at least one deep shot and another touchdown, so keep an eye on him. Dontayvion Wicks will also be a solid option with more snaps.
At tight end, this was Tucker Kraft’s best game of his career. He dominated snaps and made plenty of plays after the catch. What has finally won me over in this game was that he was FINALLY targeted downfield as well. He looks to be the top pass catcher, while everyone else is a complement to him.
Browns vs Ravens | NFL Snap Counts
Cleveland Browns Snap Counts (73 Total)
- RB Jerome Ford (35)
- RB Quinshon Judkins (19)
- RB Dylan Sampson (18)
- WR Cedric Tillman (69)
- WR Jerry Jeudy (64)
- WR Isaiah Bond (28)
- WR Jamari Thrash (20)
- TE David Njoku (60)
- TE Harold Fannin Jr. (46)
Baltimore Ravens Snap Counts (56 Total)
- RB Derrick Henry (34)
- RB Justice Hill (22)
- WR Zay Flowers (44)
- WR Rashod Bateman (33)
- WR Tylan Wallace (28)
- WR Devontez Walker (13)
- WR DeAndre Hopkins (10)
- TE Mark Andrews (45)
- TE Charlie Kolar (33)
One of the most important backfields to look at for fantasy football snap counts in NFL Week 2 is the Browns. This is because of Quinshon Judkins’ return. While he saw limited snaps, he looked good and had ridiculous usage, touching the ball on 13 of his 19 snaps. Look for Jerome Ford to give up most of those snaps, as this turns into a fun rookie backfield. Cedric Tillman may be the WR1 here, and Harold Fannin will be used all over. In this game, he saw half of his snaps in the slot and only 40% at tight end.
Obviously, it was a terrible game for Derrick Henry, which was disappointing after all of the shit talk involving him this week. The limited offensive snaps didn’t help either, but there is nothing to scare us off here. For the receivers, I’m a huge fan of Devontez Walker, so it was nice to see that performance. However, we can trust the Ravens’ snap counts here. The roles of players like Walker and DeAndre Hopkins will be inconsistent in the absolute best-case scenario.
Jaguars vs Bengals | NFL Snap Counts
Jacksonville Jaguars Snap Counts (71 Total)
- RB Travis Etienne (47)
- RB Bhayshul Tuten (18)
- RB LaQuint Allen Jr. (11)
- WR Brian Thomas Jr. (67)
- WR Dyami Brown (57)
- WR Travis Hunter (42)
- WR Parker Washington (17)
- TE Brenton Strange (64)
Cincinnati Bengals Snap Counts (69 Total)
- RB Chase Brown (49)
- RB Samaje Perine (20)
- TE Mike Gesicki (36)
- TE Drew Sample (28)
- TE Noah Fant (17)
The Jaguars traded away Tank Bigsby, and now Bhayshul Tuten appears to be the clear RB2. However, it is even clearer that Travis Etienne is the RB1. I question his durability with this workload, but ride him for now. Brenton Strange should be owned at tight end, and Brian Thomas Jr. will get better. I do believe he overperformed last year, but he is an obvious buy-low candidate right now.
Obviously, Joe Burrow suffered a turf toe injury and could be out for a few months. Drop him if you don’t have an IR slot. Jake Browning should be okay, but he has the same protection as Burrow. There isn’t much for snap count info here, except we can stay away from these tight ends in most season-long fantasy leagues.
Giants vs Cowboys | NFL Snap Counts
New York Giants Snap Counts (67 Total)
- QB Russell Wilson (64)
- QB Jaxson Dart (3)
- RB Cam Skattebo (35)
- RB Tyrone Tracy Jr. (28)
- RB Devin Singletary (4)
- WR Malik Nabers (66)
- WR Darius Slayton (66)
- WR Wan’Dale Robinson (47)
Dallas Cowboys Snap Counts (89 Total)
- RB Javonte Williams (64)
- RB Miles Sanders (20)
- WR CeeDee Lamb (82)
- WR George Pickens (79)
- WR Jalen Tolbert (58)
- WR KaVontae Turpin (14)
Russell Wilson played a good four quarters of football. Unfortunately, the game went to overtime. A bad interception to lose the game does wash away much of the good grace he earned prior, and Jaxson Dart is getting closer to taking the job. Also in the backfield, Cam Skattebo took over half of the snaps and got the goal-line touchdown nod. He also saw 14 looks to Tyrone Tracy’s 10.
Javonte Williams continues to dominate backfield snaps and touches, and Jaydon Blue continues to be a healthy scratch. The only other thing of note was KaVontae Turpin leaving with a neck injury. The tests came out “good,” but that explains the heavy snaps for Jalen Tolbert, who did nothing with them.
Bears vs Lions | NFL Snap Counts
Chicago Bears Snap Counts (68 Total)
- RB D’Andre Swift (39)
- RB Kyle Monangai (28)
- WR Rome Odunze (68)
- WR DJ Moore (60)
- WR Olamide Zaccheaus (30)
- WR Luther Burden III (12)
- TE Cole Kmet (61)
- TE Colston Loveland (36)
Detroit Lions Snap Counts (59 Total)
- RB Jahmyr Gibbs (33)
- RB David Montgomery (23)
- WR Jameson Williams (52)
- WR Amon-Ra St. Brown (32)
- WR Kalif Raymond (32)
- WR Isaac TeSlaa (17)
If you didn’t read last week’s article, Olamide Zaccheaus is the WR3, not rookie Luther Burden III. Considering that Zaccheaus has looked good with the snaps as well, Burden may not see much usage until they are preparing for next year. Cole Kmet is ahead of the first-round rookie Colston Loveland as well. In this game, the rookie making some noise was Kyle Monangai, who saw increased snaps, while notably Roschon Johnson didn’t see any.
At this point, we know the split between Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery. However, last season felt 50/50 and game plan-specific for most of the season, but Gibbs now does feel like the lead back. At receiver, Isaac TeSlaa saw increased snaps and made yet another highlight catch. His role should grow, but the issue for him is that Kalif Raymond is a solid route runner and does the dirty work every week. He’s a solid, underrated player as well.
49ers vs Saints | NFL Snap Counts
San Francisco 49ers Snap Counts (71 Total)
- RB Christian McCaffrey (55)
- RB Brian Robinson Jr. (16)
- WR Ricky Pearsall (63)
- WR Jauan Jennings (62)
- WR Kendrick Bourne (35)
- WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling (9)
- TE Jake Tonges (56)
- TE Luke Farrell (41)
New Orleans Saints Snap Counts (71 Total)
- RB Alvin Kamara (61)
- RB Kendre Miller (11)
- WR Chris Olave (71)
- WR Rashid Shaheed (50)
- WR Brandin Cooks (48)
- WR DeVaughn Vele (24)
Without Brock Purdy, this offense continued forward. Christian McCaffrey is not limited at running back in any way. At wide receiver, there is a clear top two, but the newly signed Kendrick Bourne ran 26-of-43 routes. Without George Kittle at tight end, Jake Tonges is the player of value despite Luke Farrell catching a touchdown. Tonges ran 31 routes to Farrell’s 19.
The Saints’ snap counts are straightforward. Alvin Kamara dominates the backfield while Juwan Johnson dominates tight end snaps. At wide receiver, there is a clear top three, and they run a ton of 11 personnel when passing.
