If you are unaware of what NFL survivor picks are, the basic concept is you make NFL picks throughout the season, but you can only pick a team once. Once you lose, you’re knocked out, so choose your Week 4 NFL Survivor Pool picks wisely.
If you are new to reading my survivor articles, what I do is outline my “lock of the week,” my “value of the week” and my “high-risk, high-reward pick.”
The lock of the week details what team I think has the best chance of winning their matchup. This would most likely be a good team that plays a bad team. The lock is also the official pick for NFL Survivor Pools, meaning we will not reuse a “lock.” My value pick of the week details a mid-tier team that has a good matchup. And finally, my high-risk, high-reward pick details a bad team that has a good matchup. It may be worth it to look at the NFL betting odds for these games and place some bets as well.
Teams Used:
- Baltimore Ravens
- Buffalo Bills
- Jacksonville Jaguars

Kansas City Chiefs vs. New York Jets
Even without Eric Bieniemy, the Kansas City Chiefs rolled the Chicago Bears last week to a tune of a 41-10 victory. That game included touchdowns from three different running backs on KC’s roster. I think something similar can happen this week, as the Jets’ defense has been less than impressive this week. There are also reports of Taylor Swift attending the game in New York, so we know that Travis Kelce will probably be overused. It is never a bad option to overuse Kelce, as you can almost guarantee that he will score a touchdown on Sunday night. It looks like Mahomes has also been somewhat gelling with Skyy Moore and Rashee Rice, the latter of the two looking like he can be a consistent starter in this league.
On the other side of the ball, the Kansas City defense has been playing very well this year, giving up the fourth least amount of points in the NFL this year. They get the pleasure of matching up with a Zach Wilson-led offense. Wilson has been downright terrible this year, and with the pass rush of Chris Jones and George Karlaftis, I would expect that to continue this week. This game also has the possibility of a shutout if the Jets can’t get their run game going.

Los Angeles Chargers vs. Las Vegas Raiders
While both teams have talent on their offenses, I am taking the Los Angeles Chargers here due to having the much better quarterback. Even without Mike Williams, who was lost to an ACL injury, I believe that the Chargers have a more talented team than the Raiders. The Chargers are in a big spot here to turn their season around. Starting 0-2 and then almost dropping last week to the Minnesota Vikings, the Chargers should be entering this game thinking that a division win gives them enough momentum to live up to expectations. Keenan Allen has looked like he did five years ago and that should spell a disaster for a below-average Raiders defense.
On the defensive side of the ball, I would imagine that the Raiders have a tough time trying to contain Joey Bosa. If Bosa can get constant pressure on Jimmy Garoppolo, the Raiders are going to be in for a long night. I know he hasn’t looked like his All-Pro self lately, but this is also a revenge game for Khalil Mack. The big question will be if the Chargers can somewhat limit Josh Jacobs, because we know Davante Adams is going to get his. Jacobs and the offensive line as a whole has not really impressed, so it certainly is an opportunity for the Chargers defense to step up.

Denver Broncos vs. Chicago Bears
Let’s get something out of the way here — neither of these teams are good at football. Chicago has been very bad both on offense and on defense. The Broncos have been very, very, very bad on defense, but as much as people want to blame Russell Wilson (me included), the offense has looked at least somewhat competent this year. That is what gives me a little bit of hope for the Broncos to beat the Bears. The good news for the Broncos here is that they cannot get any lower. I mean come on, losing by 50! Javonte Williams has not really had the opportunity to get going yet this year, as Denver has been playing from behind, but against Chicago’s 20th ranked rushing defense, there is a strong opportunity for him to get back to what we saw the last two years.
I don’t necessarily know how hard the Broncos defense has to play this week as the Bears are a complete dumpster fire. From their quarterback not believing in the team to the coaching being completely incompetent, this offense has nothing going for them. It is very obvious that Justin Fields is not being put into spots where he can succeed and if that is the case on Sunday, Vance Joseph may have an opportunity to somewhat save his job.
