If you are unaware of what NFL survivor picks are, the basic concept is you make NFL picks throughout the season, but you can only pick a team once. Once you lose, you’re knocked out, so choose your Week 14 NFL Survivor Pool picks wisely.

If you are new to reading my survivor articles, what I do is outline my “lock of the week,” my “value of the week” and my “high-risk, high-reward pick.”

The lock of the week details what team I think has the best chance of winning their matchup. This would most likely be a good team that plays a bad team. The lock is also the official pick for NFL Survivor Pools, meaning we will not reuse a “lock.” My value pick of the week details a mid-tier team that has a good matchup. And finally, my high-risk, high-reward pick details a bad team that has a good matchup.

Teams Used:

  1. San Francisco 49ers
  2. Cleveland Browns
  3. Cincinnati Bengals
  4. Los Angeles Chargers
  5. Jacksonville Jaguars
  6. Green Bay Packers
  7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  8. Philadelphia Eagles
  9. Miami Dolphins
  10. Dallas Cowboys
  11. Baltimore Ravens
  12. N/A
  13. Seattle Seahawks

Lock of the Week | Best Pick for NFL Survivor Pool Week 14

Tennessee Titans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

It seems like every year as the weather gets a little colder, Derrick Henry plays a little better. Luckily for Henry, that comes against a divisional rival that he has had success against in the past. In 11 games in his career against Jacksonville, Henry is averaging 103 rushing yards per game and just over a rushing touchdown per game. In terms of the passing game for Tennessee, there is nothing that really scares you on Jacksonville’s defense. When given time to make his reads, Ryan Tannehill isn’t actually that bad of a quarterback. I mean, look what he did to Green Bay through the air. I would imagine that this is a 30+ rushing attempt game for Henry, which should flawlessly help Tannehill and the passing attack through play-action.

Jacksonville is also dealing with some injuries, most notably to Trevor Lawrence. Though it sounds like Lawrence is going to play, he may be in for a long afternoon. If I were Tennessee, I am sending an all-out blitz on the team’s first defensive possession. However Lawrence responds should dictate what kind of game this is. At some point too, Jacksonville will need to get Travis Etienne going, which may be pretty difficult, as Tennessee allows the third-least amount of rushing yards per game at just 83.1 per game.

If you still have the Cowboys available to you, take them here. I would, but I used them in Week 10.

Seattle Seahawks vs. Carolina Panthers

Bluntly, Geno Smith is back. His career has been totally revitalized with his performance in Seattle this year. With Smith at the helm, Seattle is currently seventh in the NFL in touchdowns scored, with Kansas City, Philadelphia, Detroit, Dallas, Cincinnati and Buffalo ahead of them. Outside of Detroit, those might be the five best teams in the NFL. On the other hand, Carolina has scored 13 fewer touchdowns this year than Seattle and really doesn’t present anything too threatening.

The Seahawks don’t sport the greatest rushing defense by any means, but lucky for them, D’Onta Foreman, who has been Carolina’s workhorse with McCaffrey gone, is dealing with a couple of injuries right now. I think that talent alone should be enough to get Seattle this victory, especially with Seattle’s potent passing attack.

High-Risk, High-Reward Pick of the Week | Week 14 NFL Survivor Pool Picks

New England Patriots vs. Arizona Cardinals

The New England Patriots are fighting for their playoff lives right now. They need to win this game. The good news for them is that they play a bad Arizona Cardinals team. Kliff Kingsbury must have dirt on someone in the front office, considering he is still employed by the organization. NFL teams are finally realizing that if you make Kyler Murray throw the ball that he isn’t very good at playing quarterback. Bill Belichick should have Kingsbury and Murray in a blender.

New England is noted for taking away one option on an offense and you would have to imagine that it will be DeAndre Hopkins. We saw how bad Arizona was without Hopkins to start the year and I don’t know if that changes in this game.

When it comes down to it, both of these teams aren’t very good. This game should come down to coaching and, in a matchup between Belichick and Kingsbury, give me Belichick every single time.
