It was one of the wildest weeks in NFL history. Whether it be massive blowouts, Taylor Swift showing up to a game or whatever the hell is happening in Chicago, there are no shortage of headlines early in this NFL season. Clearly, it has led to a shakeup in the Week 4 NFL Power Rankings.
The 32 teams below are ranked both on where they stand and where they are projected to go. This means that the injuries of today do play a major factor. The NFL is a short season and every loss matters.
With that being said, let’s jump into the Week 4 NFL Power Rankings!
NFL Power Rankings For Week 4
1) Philadelphia Eagles (Last Week: 1)
The top team in our Week 4 NFL Power Rankings remains the Philadelphia Eagles. This week, the Eagles were able to maintain their lead, giving up just eight second-half points. Philadelphia has proven to be the most well-rounded team so far this season, and their depth is what puts them over the top.
2) San Francisco 49ers (2)
The San Francisco 49ers did exactly what they had to do on a short week, dominating on Thursday Night Football. San Francisco was so dominant that we have all come to the conclusion that the New York Giants were flukes last season and they had no interest in being on that field. Regardless if that is true, the Niners’ defense is among the best in the league and their offense is loaded with weapons. The only thing that can stop them is health.
3) Kansas City Chiefs (3)
Speaking of domination, that is going to be the theme for the next few teams in the Week 4 NFL Power Rankings as well. For the Kansas City Chiefs, they made sure that the game against the Chicago Bears wouldn’t fall into a “trap game.” While their offense is great, what takes this Chiefs team to another level is that they have one of the youngest and most talented defenses as well. The only concern from this past week is that Patrick Mahomes tweaked his ankle once again. Hopefully, this won’t become a theme.
4) Buffalo Bills (5)
The Buffalo Bills coasted to a 37-point lead over the Washington Commanders. In the game, Buffalo sacked Sam Howell NINE times and forced five Washington turnovers. If the Bills’ defense is going to play at a high level, then this is a Buffalo team that is capable of being a contender. We know the offense has plenty of weapons.
5) Miami Dolphins (7)
Boy, what was THAT? The Miami Dolphins exploded for 70 points against the Denver Broncos. Yes, 70, and they did it without Jaylen Waddle. Miami had the chance to set the NFL record for points by kicking a field goal at the end, but they decided to kneel it out instead. It was one of the most dominating offensive performances of all time. That alone makes this team dangerous, but the defense is also respectable.
6) Dallas Cowboys (4)
While the Dallas Cowboys did lose star cornerback Trevon Diggs for the season, that is hardly an excuse for losing to the Arizona Cardinals. The Cowboys were also missing key pieces on the offensive line, which was more of the issue in this game. Regardless, Dallas lost to a team that most fans and analysts considered to be the worst in the NFL. Dak Prescott and the rest of the offense will need to be sharper going forward, which they should be.
7) Seattle Seahawks (9)
It wasn’t the prettiest game, but the Seattle Seahawks got the win over Andy Dalton and the Carolina Panthers, moving them up in the Week 4 NFL Power Rankings. The Seahawks don’t make many mistakes and they take points when they are available. While this seems like a small, obvious point, it isn’t in today’s NFL. A strong culture, a terrific coach and solid enough talent should keep Seattle relevant this season.
8) Jacksonville Jaguars (6)
The Jacksonville Jaguars’ biggest issue is themselves. Self-imposed mistakes cost them the game against the Houston Texans. However, Jacksonville has a strong coaching staff and is loaded with talent. As the season progresses, the offensive line should be able to play a bit better overall as well.
9) Detroit Lions (10)
The injuries for the Detroit Lions are beginning to stack up. The most concerning is the health of their offensive line since that is the team’s strength. Regardless, Detroit is playing good football, and Jared Goff is proving to be more than capable of leading a winning football team. They have a short turnaround to play a Thursday Night Football game against the Green Bay Packers, which could prove to be an important game.
10) Baltimore Ravens (8)
The Baltimore Ravens entered Week 3 with numerous injuries to key players, and they added to that during the game. While they probably still should have defeated the Indianapolis Colts, Lamar Jackson‘s performance is enough to keep optimism high and keep the Ravens in the top 10 of our Week 4 NFL Power Rankings. If Baltimore can get healthier, they will be contenders. However, that’s a big “if.”
