The 2023-24 NFL season is flying by as we’re already onto Week 13, starting with Thursday Night Football — a clash between the Seattle Seahawks and Dallas Cowboys. Below, I’ll go over my top DraftKings NFL DFS Showdown picks for the Seahawks vs Cowboys TNF Week 13 game.

The past few Thursday Night Football games have not necessarily been as action-packed as we had hoped but this is setting up to be a good one. Both starting quarterbacks are playing, the Cowboys have been on fire and the Seahawks are in dire need of a win to stay in the playoff race. As for injuries, Kenneth Walker III is listed as doubtful with an oblique injury.

It’s going to be fun regardless because well, it’s football, so let’s dive into how you should tackle this week’s DraftKings NFL DFS Showdown fantasy football slate. I’ll highlight my favorite Captain’s plays and FLEX plays below.

Favorite Captain NFL DFS Picks

Dak Prescott ($16,500)

I’m fully aware that it’s going to be very hard to fade CeeDee Lamb ($17,100) after the sheer production from him since Week 8. But, operating under the assumption that Seattle’s secondary can somewhat limit Lamb, rolling with Dak Prescott to ensure you’re banking consistent points is a good move. At the end of the day, any points Lamb gets, Prescott gets and why not just roll with a guy that has posted at least 31 DKFP in four of his last five games? Plus, these guys are expensive for a reason and any amount of salary saved is a win.

The Seahawks allow nearly 250 passing yards per game this season and now have to face a Cowboys offense that averages 31.5 points per game, including a whopping 42.3 across the last three games. Lamb and Prescott have been automatic lately and I’m certainly not avoiding them on a full week’s rest against an up-and-down defense.

Tony Pollard ($14,700)

While I focused on the passing game, let’s talk about Tony Pollard, even though most fantasy managers don’t want to. Pollard has burned us, fantasy managers, one too many times this season, particularly because of his inability to find the end zone. He has found the end zone just four times this season, twice in Week 1 and once in each of the past two weeks. Luckily, this looks like a great spot to continue the trend as the Seahawks allow the fourth-most DKFP per game to opposing running backs and the fourth-most rushing touchdowns per game (1.3).

Yes, Pollard has burned us a bunch this season but he still receives plenty of volume –– totaling 15 carries in each of his past five games along with a total of 20 receptions in that span. Dallas’ offense is as electric as it gets right now and it’s not a bad idea to roster the running back that gets consistent volume against one of the poorer run defenses in the league. Plus, if things get ugly quickly, that means more carries for Pollard.

Favorite Value FLEX NFL DFS Picks

Zach Charbonnet ($6,800)

The rookie running back didn’t wow anybody with his 9.8-DKFP performance last week but with Kenneth Walker III ($12,600) listed as doubtful, Zach Charbonnet has the whole backfield to himself for the most part. First, the matchup is not ideal by any means as the Cowboys allow the fourth-fewest DKFP and just 4.1 yards per carry to opposing running backs. For reference, Charbonnet has averaged just 3.2 yards per carry across the last two weeks. Still, I’m having a hard time ignoring him at this salary because he’ll get all the volume and could very easily find himself hauling in a ton of passes, especially if the Seahawks fall behind early.

He’s not the sexy option but at a sub-$7K salary in a potential bell-cow role is too enticing to pass up. Charbonnet totaled 14 carries for 46 yards last week, including a 10-yard run and hopefully can find occasional chunk plays tonight, which will turn into solid DFS value.

Cowboys D/ST ($5,600)

I’m still not fully sure how much Geno Smith ($9,200) is affected by his “elbow injury” but regardless, the offense doesn’t scare me enough to shy away from rolling with the Cowboys defense at just $5.6K. While their offense has scored at least 33 points in four of the last five weeks, the defense has also held it down, allowing fewer than 20 points in that span.

Seattle’s offensive line is banged up and underperforming as well, leaving the door wide open for Micah Parsons and company to terrorize Smith all game long. Smith has been sacked 13 times in the last four games and depending on how injured his elbow is, that trend could continue. Dallas’ secondary can certainly be exploited but I’m not banking on the Seahawks putting together a clean game to consistently score points against the Cowboys.
