Week 2 is almost over but there are two Monday Night Football games to watch tonight and we’ll be focusing on the second matchup of the night between the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers. Below, I’ll go over my top NFL DFS Showdown picks on DraftKings for the Browns vs. Steelers MNF Week 2 game.
This week’s matchup is interesting from an NFL DFS perspective but could very well be a low-scoring affair between two stingy defenses in a divisional game. It’s still going to be a fun one, so let’s dive right into how you tackle this week’s DraftKings NFL DFS Showdown fantasy football slate. I’ll highlight my favorite Captain’s plays and FLEX plays below.

Favorite Captain NFL DFS Picks
Nick Chubb ($18,300)
Nick Chubb is easily going to be the most rostered Captain play on tonight’s DraftKings NFL DFS Showdown, and rightfully so. In Week 1, he averaged 5.9 yards per carry and totaled 19.7 FPTS without even finding the endzone. Now, he faces a Steelers defense that allowed 5.5 yards per carry and 188 rushing yards last week to the San Francisco 49ers. Another plus for Chubb is his unusual role in the passing game where he caught four passes for 21 yards. If he does that again, and does his usual damage on the ground, he will produce a high fantasy total.
As dominant as the Browns looked in Week 1, Deshaun Watson still didn’t do it for me, and I’m expecting him to struggle against a powerful Steelers’ pass rush. Plus, Amari Cooper ($8,800; groin) could be absent or at least limited, making it even harder for him. He’ll still make some plays with the Browns’ talent, but this should be a big Chubb game.
George Pickens ($12,000)
I’m tempted to roll with Kenny Pickett ($9,200) but the combination of Pittsburgh’s offensive line and the Browns’ pass rush is scary to think about. Nonetheless, if the Browns end up churning on offense, the Steelers will throw the ball a lot and Pickens is WR1 with Diontae Johnson sidelined for multiple weeks. Pickens only put up 8.6 FPTS last week, catching five balls for just 36 yards but it’s safe to say the Steelers aren’t going to play as poorly in their home opener against a divisional opponent.
The odds of Najee Harris ($9,400) and the running game being effective against this stingy Browns defense are probably very low, suggesting even more will be expected of Pickett and Pickens. We’ve all seen the flashy catches Pickens is capable of hauling in, but now we get a taste of what it’s like when he’s the top option in an offense desperate for a bounce-back performance.

Favorite Value FLEX NFL DFS Picks
Elijah Moore ($6,600)
With Amari Cooper battling an injury, the Cleveland Browns‘ pass catchers aren’t necessarily intimidating. That said, Moore is very talented and still early in his career — for all we know, this could be his breakout game that shows the league what he can really do. He saw the same amount of targets as Cooper last week (7) but was also used in the rushing game. He totaled just 9.2 FPTS last week, but with Cooper injured, his target share is going to increase even more. He’s likely going to register similar targets if the game script is even throughout and only costs $6.6K.
Donovan Peoples-Jones ($5,000) is a compelling option too as the presumable WR2, and he did log 89% of the snaps in Week 1. His big-play ability is certainly there but I’d suggest possibly considering both pass-catchers if you think Watson and the passing game will look more improved this time around. Moore is the much safer option given his target share.
Browns D/ST ($4,600)
I’ve been hinting at how the Browns’ pass rush versus the Steelers’ offensive line is going to be a scary matchup, and I’m rolling with Myles Garrett and company to dominate again. Pickett was hit a whopping nine times and sacked on five of them against the Niners and it could very well look the same if they don’t contain Garrett. The Browns’ defense just hit Joe Burrow 10 times and sacked him twice all while holding the Bengals to just three points one week ago.
While I think the game is going to be very close and the Steelers could even win this game, there will be no shortage of elite defensive plays made by the Browns, and Pickett will absolutely be sacked multiple times, barring a miracle.
With that being said, let’s take a look at my favorite lineup for tonight’s DraftKings NFL DFS Showdown slate for the Browns vs Steelers game.
