The 2026 NFL Combine is in the books! Now, teams will attend Pro Days and conduct their own private workouts with players prior to the 2026 NFL Draft, which begins on April 23rd. Much is left to be determined and decided. However, we do have some data on the wide receiver position that is noteworthy, including the 40 times at the Combine.

Carnell Tate Combine Results | 40-Yard Dash Time
One of the biggest headlines to come out of the 2026 NFL Combine was the Carnell Tate 40 time. Needless to say, Tate’s Combine results were not good. He ran a 4.53-second 40-yard dash time, which is among the slowest at his position. But while Tate’s 40 time is bad, he does play much faster than this testing, and he will likely continue to be a top-10 pick in the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft.
However, it is interesting that Adam Schefter, notable ESPN douchebag, went out of his way to try to spin this story. Do not believe your eyes. No, instead, believe Schefter who posted: “Although the combine registers official times, teams always conduct their own timing, and those measurements with some teams were lower than his clocked 4.52… [Tate] was timed by several NFL executives and GMs on Saturday with a 40 time in the range of 4.45-4.47 seconds.”
So, yes, Tate did run a 4.53-second 40-yard dash time. However, some did incorrectly time him as well, and that is important information to some people.
Fastest 40 Times From the 2026 NFL Combine Results
Athletes continue to get bigger, faster and stronger, which was on display this week. While nobody in the NFL Combine results set a new all-time record, we did see the running back group as a whole run its fastest collective time ever. On top of that, Kenyon Sadiq set a new record for fastest 40 time for a tight end.
Taylen Green, a quarterback out of Arkansas, set an NFL Combine record for the quarterback position group in vertical jump (43.5 inches) and long jump (11 feet, 2 inches). His 40 time, however, was the second-fastest QB since 2003 (4.36 seconds). Here are the 10 fastest 40 times from the 2026 NFL Combine results.
