NFL Picks Against the Spread
Baltimore Ravens -6.5 (at NYJ)
Lamar Jackson is known to start the season with a bang. The only reason he didn’t last season is because of all the injuries the Baltimore Ravens endured. Now, the Ravens are relatively healthy, Jackson has added 15 pounds and he is looking to earn the biggest NFL contract ever. He’s my favorite MVP bet, and the Ravens are my favorite bet of these NFL picks against the spread against a bad Jets team.
Minnesota Vikings +1 (vs GB)
Week 1 home underdogs in divisional games are 19-4 against the spread in the last 23 games. The Minnesota Vikings, with a re-energized offense, shouldn’t be an underdog. The weakness of their team is their secondary, which is usually terrible news against Aaron Rodgers. However, with Davante Adams and Marquez Valdes-Scantling out of town and Allen Lazard likely out for this game, half of the team’s targets from last season are missing. Look for the Vikings to put up some big plays against an overrated Packers secondary.
New Orleans Saints -5.5 (at ATL)
The New Orleans Saints are a weird team for 2022, but it’s clear they are a better team than the Atlanta Falcons, who have question marks in nearly every position room. The Saints defense is perpetually underrated while the offense is stacked with playmakers. As long as Jameis Winston isn’t focused on giving more science lessons, the Saints should have another strong NFL Week 1 performance.
Philadelphia Eagles -5 (at DET)
While everyone, including myself, would love to see the Detroit Lions come out and dominate Week 1, it’s not going to happen. They couldn’t have a worse matchup. The Lions’ strength is their offensive line. Not only will they be missing starters up front, but the Philadelphia Eagles’ defensive line is also strong. The Eagles are strong in the trenches on both sides. They should be able to move the ball all day long, and their defense is a little underrated, in my opinion.
NFL Player Props
Jonathan Taylor 100+ Rushing Yards (-121)
I’m sure Jonathan Taylor was happy to see the Texans on the schedule for Week 1. In two games against Houston last season, Taylor ran for 145 and 143. Don’t overthink this one. The Indianapolis Colts are heavy favorites, and Jonathan Taylor will be the one to control the clock and keep this offense on schedule. Taylor getting 100 rushing yards will always be among the NFL best bets and best NFL player props to place.
Aaron Jones 52+ Rushing Yards (-114)
Both Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon will see a lot of snaps on Sunday. However, Jones is the better player and the big play threat. Jones has run for at least 66 yards in every game against the Vikings since his rookie year. Why should Sunday be any different?
Devin Duvernay 20+ Receiving Yards (-114)
Whether you would like to believe it or not, Devin Duvernay is the WR2 for the Ravens. Many people are dismissing Duvernay as a nobody, but he was a third-round draft pick in 2020. Look for him to play in the “Marquise Brown” role for this offense. Duvernay is a sneaky play across all formats to make you money in NFL Week 1.
NFL Week 1 Par-Layup
NFL parlays are known for their massive payouts and big potential. However, those big parlays are also known to barely hit. That is why we are creating a parlay that is as easy as making a layup. While the odds aren’t massive, free money is the best money.
– Denver Broncos ML (-280)
– Indianapolis Colts ML (-340)
– San Francisco 49ers ML (-300)
– Baltimore Ravens ML (-320)
NFL Parlay Odds: +207
While there are other bets I like, such as the Eagles and Saints to win, we are wanting to create the easiest parlay possible that is still worth our time. If you can triple your money with a wager, it should be included with your NFL best bets.
