NCAAM Power Rankings: Week 7

Published by
Zach Pretzer

Each week, I will be posting my power rankings from all the power conferences including the A10 and AAC. Also at the end of each ranking, I will add a few remarks on different team’s movements.

A10

  1. Rhode Island
  2. St Bonaventure
  3. VCU
  4. La Salle
  5. GW
  6. Duquesne
  7. St Joes
  8. Richmond
  9. St Louis
  10. Davidson
  11. George Mason
  12. Umass
  13. Dayton
  14. Fordham

St. Bonaventure is a serious contender for the A10 Championship when completely healthy, and they have proved it.

AAC

  1. Wichita State
  2. Cincy
  3. Houston
  4. SMU
  5. Tulsa
  6. UCF
  7. Tulane
  8. Temple
  9. Uconn
  10. Memphis
  11. ECU
  12. USF

Tulsa rise, and ECU and USF flipped spots at the bottom, as both put up just 39 points in losses. However, USF lost by 40 and ECU lost by 20, which is why USF is last.

ACC

  1. Duke
  2. UNC
  3. Virginia
  4. Clemson
  5. Miami
  6. FSU
  7. Notre Dame
  8. BC
  9. Syracuse
  10. Wake Forest
  11. Vtech
  12. NC State
  13. Louisville
  14. Pitt
  15. Gtech

Clemson leaps Miami and FSU, as they continue to play great basketball.

Louisville drops after getting destroyed by in state rival, Kentucky.

Big 12

  1. Oklahoma
  2. West V
  3. Kansas
  4. Texas Tech
  5. TCU
  6. Kansas State
  7. Texas
  8. Baylor
  9. Oklahoma State
  10. Iowa State

Oklahoma is still on top even though West Virginia really should be with how they are playing. Who is going to stop Trae Young though?

Big East

  1. Nova
  2. Xavier
  3. Seton Hall
  4. Butler
  5. Creighton
  6. Providence
  7. St Johns
  8. Georgetown
  9. Marquette
  10. Depaul

This conference is tight, PERIOD.

Big Ten

  1. Michigan State
  2. Purdue
  3. Michigan
  4. Maryland
  5. Penn State
  6. Minnesota
  7. Ohio State
  8. Iowa
  9. Illinois
  10. Nebraska
  11. Rutgers
  12. Northwestern
  13. Wisconsin
  14. Indiana

Maryland beat Penn State for fourth this week, and Wisconsin beat Indiana in a game for last. The Big Ten is weird.

PAC 12

  1. Arizona
  2. ASU
  3. UCLA
  4. Washington
  5. Utah
  6. USC
  7. Oregon
  8. Oregon State
  9. Colorado
  10. Wash State
  11. Cal
  12. Stanford

Arizona overtakes ASU, and Washington+Utah jump USC+Oregon, as Washington beat USC, and Utah beat Oregon. USC and Oregon are in trouble this season.

SEC

  1. Auburn
  2. Kentucky
  3. Texas A&M
  4. Arkansas
  5. Tennessee
  6. Alabama
  7. Florida
  8. Georgia
  9. Miss State
  10. LSU
  11. Missouri
  12. Ole Miss
  13. Vandy
  14. South Carolina

Auburn may not be the best team in the conference, but they have the best record, so they are ranked #1 in a confusing conference that will be solved soon enough.
