    Mid Major Topics

    • Tennessee Tech out of the Ohio Valley only has one loss and they picked up a very nice win over Lipscomb. However, later in the week they suffered their first loss to Furman.
    • In a fantastic overtime game, UNI handed UNLV their first loss on the year. Look for these two teams to be very good this year. Later in the week, UNLV fell to the struggling Arizona Wildcats in overtime by just three.
    • LTech lost by just four to #24 Alabama, using their veteran talent to challenge Bama’s freshmen.
    • Wyoming has impressed so far this year, but they received a bad loss from Denver.
    • Nevada is the best mid major team by far right now. They beat Illinois State by 30, got ranked #22 in the AP Poll, and finally took a loss in overtime to Texas Tech, who were ranked #22 the week prior. Even with a loss, Nevada is the best team, but they have to play #20 TCU next for another great challenge.
    • San Diego State picks up a solid win over a very good San Diego team.
    • UAB absolutely dismantles Memphis in an impressive win by 15.
    • Towson still only has one loss, and now have the title as the Belfast Classic champion, beating La Salle and Manhattan.
    • Oakland earns a great comeback win at Western Michigan to get back on track.
    • SF Austin still holds just one loss, as they barely pull out a win over UL Monroe.
    • Bucknell pulled off a fantastic win to get back on track at home over Vermont. Later in the week, both ended up taking losses, which dropped Bucknell out of the top-25 for now, and dropped Vermont pretty significantly.
    • Middle Tennessee takes round two in their second game of the year against FGCU, in a battle of top mid major teams. FGCU falls out of the top-25.
    • South Dakota State has been great as of late, but they received a bad loss from Missouri State by 20 in their home stadium, and they also fell to #6 Wichita State after leading them at half by eight.
    • Ball State got a random upset win over #9 Notre Dame.
    • Grand Canyon dropped a very winnable at home against St. Johns for their second loss.
