NBA Mock Draft and Order After 2026 NBA Draft Lottery

May 11, 2026

The New York Knicks just capped off one of the best runs in NBA Playoffs history, taking the championship from the San Antonio Spurs in five games. While that means the 2025-26 season is over, the 2026 offseason is just getting started. Now, all eyes are on what the Washington Wizards will do with the number one overall pick in the coming draft after winning the lottery.

With a loaded 2026 class, several teams are going to come out of the draft with really good basketball players. With players like AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson and Cam Boozer set to become franchise cornerstones, this class is sure to make its mark as one of the best of all time.

With the draft order set and the Knicks crowned as champions, let’s take a look at my second NBA mock draft of the offseason.

NBA Mock Draft and Order After 2026 NBA Finals

1. Washington Wizards – AJ Dybantsa – BYU (Freshman)

AJ Dybantsa already looked the part of an NBA All-Star during his freshman season at BYU. After leading the nation in scoring at 25.5 points per game, Dybantsa is the sure-fire number one pick for the Washington Wizards to help get the franchise back to the playoffs. Dybantsa’s three-level scoring, combined with his incredible size and length, will make Wizards fans incredibly happy for years to come.

If Washington can keep Anthony Davis, a lineup of Trae Young, Kyshawn George, Alex Sarr, Dybantsa and Davis is certainly a playoff team.

2. Utah Jazz – Darryn Peterson – Kansas (Freshman)

There seems to be a lot of conversation surrounding who goes second in this year’s draft between Darryn Peterson and Cam Boozer. I am predicting that Utah goes with the Kansas freshman here, as Peterson’s ability to control the ball and score all over the court provides the Jazz with a better ROI in their current state. Peterson showed his NBA-level scoring ability during his time on the court at Kansas and projects to carry over seamlessly.

Adding Peterson to a backcourt with Keyonte George gives Jazz fans a very guard duo to root for in the near future. With Peterson’s ability to play the off-guard position, all of a sudden Utah looks like they will have one of the better backcourts in the entire league.

3. Memphis Grizzlies – Cam Boozer – Duke (Freshman)

Throughout Memphis’ existence, it always seems like they have a big, strong four-man to play out of. Zach Randolph, Jaren Jackson and Stromile Swift are just a few names that fit that bill. When Jackson left, it appeared that Memphis lost that identity. They can get it back here, as they select Cam Boozer and put a reset to the franchise, especially with the uncertainty surrounding Ja Morant.

While Memphis doesn’t sport the greatest roster in the NBA, drafting Boozer, who puts his head down and gets to his spot with a nice touch around the rim, gives the Grizzlies an incredible piece to build around for the future.

4. Chicago Bulls – Caleb Wilson – North Carolina (Freshman)

Outside of Dybantsa, unless something crazy happens, this pick seems set in stone. The Bulls, similar to Memphis, don’t really have a solid direction. They do have some solid pieces in Josh Giddey and Matas Buzelis, so adding someone who has as high of a floor as Caleb Wilson seems like a great direction to move. While Wilson is still extremely raw, he showed great ability to score within the three-point line during his time at North Carolina. What sets Wilson over the edge is his incredible defensive instincts.

Wilson’s defense will be an instant factor for the Bulls, and adding him to a core of Giddey and Buzelis is excitement that Bulls fans haven’t felt in a while. In Chicago during their rebuild, Wilson will have ample time to blossom into a superstar.

5. Los Angeles Clippers (via IND) – Mikel Brown Jr. – Louisville (Freshman)

Whatever order you want to put them in, it seems like the first four players off of the board will be Dybantsa, Peterson, Boozer and Wilson, which means this NBA Mock Draft really gets interesting with the Clippers pick. This may be a spot where the Clippers trade down, but if they keep the pick, I am predicting them to take Mikel Brown, who is probably the best pure shooter in this draft. He consistently made threes from NBA range while at Louisville.

The Clippers are in an odd spot right now, as Kawhi Leonard’s future in Los Angeles can’t be much longer. With Darius Garland, Brown will eventually slot into the start off-guard role, giving them great balance between playmaking and shooting in the backcourt.

6. Brooklyn Nets – Darius Acuff Jr. – Arkansas (Freshman)

If you watched college basketball this past season, you know that there was no one player more fun to watch than Darius Acuff at Arkansas. When we boil basketball down, it is about who can go out and get a bucket. That is Acuff’s mentality. He is going to put the ball in the hoop, and nobody is going to stop him. Acuff’s incredible scoring prowess and ability to handle the ball are the perfect piece for a really bad Brooklyn Nets roster.

Many people cite Acuff’s defense as an issue, but when he gets drafted by the Nets, that is not going to matter much. Acuff will have a lot of time to develop his defensive skills with Brooklyn, and he should be given full rein to score the ball at will.

7. Sacramento Kings – Keaton Wagler – Illinois (Freshman)

Keaton Wagler jumped up on draft boards throughout this past college basketball season after leading Illinois to its sixth Final Four appearance. Wagler comes into the NBA with a tall (6 foot 6 inches) but skinny (185-pound) frame. He used that height to shoot over smaller guards, as well as work his way to the paint and finish. Wagler is going to need to beef up, but his ability to control an offense is too much to overlook the red flags.

Sacramento, who is looking for a new leader of the team after losing De’Aaron Fox, will find it here with Wagler. Russell Westbrook, Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan’s futures with the Kings may be short, so adding a strong guard to Keegan Murray and Domantas Sabonis will be key for the Kings to get back to the playoffs.

8. Atlanta Hawks (via NOP) – Kingston Flemings – Houston (Freshman)

With a loaded freshman-led guard NBA Draft, the Atlanta Hawks may come away with the best one when it is all said and done. Kingston Flemings is a really intriguing prospect given his lockdown defense, as well as his speed with the ball. Coached by Kelvin Sampson at Houston, Flemings will immediately bring toughness to the Atlanta Hawks. Along with his speed and money midrange jumper, Flemings has a lot of Jrue Holiday in him, where he is going to make life hell for opposing lead guards.

It makes a lot of sense for Atlanta to take him at eight given Quin Snyder’s defensive intensity as a coach. After trading away Trae Young, Flemings should eventually slot into the starting point guard role on the team. Adding Flemings to a core of Dyson Daniels, Jalen Johnson, Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Jonathan Kuminga creates a very scary defensive team for years to come.

9. Dallas Mavericks – Brayden Burries – Arizona (Freshman)

While Brayden Burries may have been overshadowed at Arizona by bigger names like Koa Peat and Jaden Bradley, it was clear all season long that he was the most NBA-ready player for the Wildcats. Burries emerged as Arizona’s go-to scorer and overall heart and soul of the team as the Wildcats marched to the National Championship. Using his strong defense and elite scoring ability, this may be a little too low for Burries.

Dallas gets another piece to add alongside Cooper Flagg and Kyrie Irving as the team looks to retool after a forgettable season. Slotting Burries in next to Irving and Flagg will give the Arizona alum the time that he needs to develop his game and not be relied on right away. Burries’ combination of elite offensive and defensive skills may make us ask why he fell to nine in years to come.

10. Milwaukee Bucks – Yaxel Lendeborg – Michigan (Senior)

The Milwaukee Bucks could go several ways here with the 10th overall pick, and that all rides on the back of if Giannis Antetokounmpo will stay in Wisconsin. Either way, I am closing out the top 10 with the Bucks selecting Yaxel Lendeborg. If age was not a factor in prospect scouting, there is certainly a case to be made for Lendeborg to be drafted in the top five of the draft. The Michigan alum looked like a man among boys in the Wolverines’ run to the National Championship, combining elite scoring prowess with physical defense in an NBA-ready body.

Selecting Lendeborg gives the Bucks some flexibility here as it allows them to keep the win-now window open with Antetokounmpo or gives them an instant replacement that can immediately slot in at the four. Either way, Milwaukee is in desperate need of good basketball players and Lendeborg is just that.

11. Golden State Warriors – Aday Mara – Michigan (Junior)

12. Oklahoma City Thunder (via LAC) – Nate Ament – Tennessee (Freshman)

13. Miami Heat – Labaron Philon – Alabama (Sophomore)

14. Charlotte Hornets – Karim Lopez – New Zealand Breakers

15. Chicago Bulls (via POR) – Morez Johnson – Michigan (Sophomore)

16. Memphis Grizzlies (via ORL from PHX) – Hannes Steinbech – Washington (Freshman)

17. Oklahoma City Thunder (via PHI) – Bennett Stirtz – Iowa (Senior)

18. Charlotte Hornets (via PHX from ORL) – Ebuka Okorie – Stanford (Freshman)

19. Toronto Raptors – Cameron Carr – Baylor (Junior)

20. San Antonio Spurs (via ATL) – Chris Cenac Jr – Houston (Freshman)

21. Detroit Pistons (via MIN) – Christian Anderson – Texas Tech (Sophomore)

22. Philadelphia 76ers (via OKC from HOU) – Koa Peat – Arizona (Freshman)

23. Atlanta Hawks (via CLE) – Dailyn Swain – Texas (Junior)

24. New York Knicks – Jayden Quaintance – Kentucky (Sophomore)

25. Los Angeles Lakers – Henri Veesaar – North Carolina (Junior)

26. Denver Nuggets – Zuby Ejiofor – St. John’s (Senior)

27. Boston Celtics – Alex Karaban – UConn (Senior)

28. Minnesota Timberwolves (via DET) – Tarris Reed – UConn (Senior)

29. Cleveland Cavaliers (via SAS) – Maleek Thomas – Arkansas (Freshman)

30. Dallas Mavericks (via WAS from PHI from OKC) – Baba Miller – Cincinnati (Senior)
