NBA DFS FanDuel Building Blocks | 1/14
The James Harden trade that we have all been waiting for finally went through yesterday, and it included four teams, a ton of draft picks and many players. For the full breakdown of who and what switched hands, click here.
For DFS purposes, it opens up a lot of value on the Houston Rockets today. Harden is gone, John Wall is out with a knee injury and Victor Oladipo is not with the team yet. This is a spot to be on your radar today, facing the San Antonio Spurs. The Pacers will look a lot like they did in their last game, since Oladipo sat out for injury management purposes.
The following building blocks for the NBA DFS FanDuel slate today are from Leo Pritschet on the FlurrySports YouTube page.
Christian Wood at Spurs ($8,100)
Christian Wood has a usage rate of nearly 25% for this season. Without both Wall and Harden in the lineup, that should increase for the Rockets big man. In a very limited sample size with those two off the floor, Wood has operated with a 36.5% usage rate and 1.59 FanDuel points per minute (Pts/Min).
At only $8,100 on FanDuel, we’re getting Wood at a bargain rate NBA DFS.
Pascal Siakam vs Hornets ($8,900)
Pascal Siakam gets a favorable matchup against a weaker, fast opponent in the Charlotte Hornets. After a slow start to the season, Siakam seems to be hitting his stride, averaging averaging 49 FanDuel points in his last four outings, which includes a triple-double last time out.
Domantas Sabonis is also in play at PF. This is an NBA DFS slate to pay up at PF, with value at other positions. However, he is ranked third of these three, due to his price.
Joel Embiid vs Heat ($10,200)
Joel Embiid embarrassed the Miami Heat last game, to the tune of 84.2 FanDuel points. The Heat are still shorthanded, particularly down low. Simply, they do not have anyone capable of guarding Embiid, as shown by the picture that made the rounds a couple days ago of seemingly every Heat player taking a side of Emiid, yet he still crushed them.
Tyler Herro at 76ers ($6,500)
With Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo and Goran Dragic all out, Tyler Herro will shoot the ball as much as he pleases. Herro has a usage rate of 30.5% with those three off the floor this season. This was the case in his last game against the 76ers. He put up 26 shots and finished the game with 45.4 FanDuel points.
With these four in your NBA DFS lineup, you have $5,260 remaining per player. For value plays, utilize the increased roles on Houston and Indiana, whose lineups are affected by yesterday’s blockbuster trade.
