The NASCAR Cup Series honors our fallen military members this weekend with the Coca-Cola 600. The Greatest Day of Racing will be capped off with this race from Charlotte Motor Speedway. In this race, you need people who will survive the whole race without being involved in a wreck or having engine trouble. This week if you want to win money playing FanDuel NASCAR DFS, you need to find drivers and teams who will be there at the end of a full 600 miles of racing.

FanDuel NASCAR DFS Overview

In this NASCAR Cup Series DFS column, we will be using FanDuel prices and scoring. Their scoring includes the following:

  • .1 points for leading a lap
  • .1 points for completing a lap
  • Add/subtract a half point based on the difference in a driver’s finishing position relative to their starting position
  • Points based on where the driver finishes

Coca-Cola 600 Drivers to Consider

Kyle Busch ($13,500)

With the 550-horsepower package returning this weekend, you have to believe that Kyle Busch will bring his A-game. He recently won the Coca-Cola 600 back in 2018. The younger Busch brother needs to have a good run this weekend to gain some much-needed momentum. Kyle Busch is ready to get his second win of the year, and I believe it happens this week at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Ryan Blaney ($11,000)

It has been a fairly quiet 2021 season thus far for Ryan Blaney. That said, he should be able to put together a solid run this week after an abysmal COTA race. He has a win on a 1.5-mile track already this season. In fact, his victory at Atlanta Motor Speedway came on the track most comparable to Charlotte. Blaney makes for a strong NASCAR DFS option on Sunday.

Kevin Harvick ($10,300)

‘The Closer’ is back on the good side of the NASCAR DFS list this week as he is very strong at Charlotte. Harvick has not won the Coca-Cola 600 since 2013, but he still has had some great runs in the race. Combine the fact that he finished second in the last race with the 550-horsepower package and Harvick will be a good NASCAR DFS choice for Sunday.

Rickey Stenhouse Jr. ($7,700)

What is this? RIckey Stenhouse Jr. on the NASCAR DFS drivers to consider list? Yes, and here is why. He is decent at Charlotte Motor Speedway and JTG Daugherty Racing as a whole is on an upswing of late. Stenhouse is the senior driver on the team and very well could sneak out of the weekend with a top-10 finish.

Coca-Cola 600 Drivers to Avoid

Joey Logano ($11,500)

Joey Logano is not worth the price in NASCAR DFS this week. He has an average finish of 15th at Charlotte in the last 10 races on the oval. I cannot see myself taking him with his price tag. Look towards Team Penske teammate Blaney in the No. 12 car over Logano.

Matt DiBenedetto ($9,500)

For whatever reason, Matt DiBenedetto cannot figure this place out. He has an average finish of 19th in his ten previous races at Charlotte. Even with better equipment in the Nos. 95 and 21 cars, his average finish has been bad. Skip out on DiBenedetto in NASCAR DFS until he shows something more at Charlotte.

Bubba Wallace ($5,000)

23XI Racing is not the team to trust this weekend, plain and simple. Let’s start with their inconsistency. The team has struggled to keep the car from having mechanical problems. When playing NASCAR DFS for a 600-mile race, you need to look for teams that won’t make crucial mistakes. Add in the fact that Bubba Wallace has an average finish of just 29th in his four prior starts Charlotte Motor Speedway and it’s double trouble here. Even with a $5,000 price tag, it’s best to avoid the No. 23 car this week.

Alex Bowman ($10,000)

Every time Alex Bowman lands on this side of the NASCAR DFS shopping list, he goes out and proves the prediction wrong. His history at Charlotte is why we are avoiding the No. 48 this week. In his seven races at the track, he has an average finish of just 23.3 Since joining Hendrick Motorsports, he has two top-10s and two finishes of 30th or worse. That said, if you want to fade me here, go right ahead. After all, maybe piling on him in this column is exactly what has been giving Bowman the extra motivation he needs.
