The NASCAR Cup Series visits the Midwest this weekend. Kansas Speedway will play host to the Buschy McBusch Race 400. Yes, that is the real name of the race. While that may be hilarious, one thing that isn’t a laughing matter though is winning money playing NASCAR DFS. Read on for some winning FanDuel NASCAR picks for this weekend’s race.

In this NASCAR Cup Series DFS column, we will be using FanDuel prices and scoring. Their scoring includes the following:

  • .1 points for completing a lap
  • Add/subtract a point based on the difference in a driver’s finishing position relative to their starting position
  • Points based on where the driver finishes

Buschy McBusch Race 400 Drivers to Consider

Joey Logano ($12,000)

A wreck took Joey Logano out of the Talladega race and now sees him start 29th on Sunday at Kansas Speedway. That will be beneficial in NASCAR DFS as he will make his way to the front quickly and earn you points. He very well could go out and do exactly what he did at this very track last fall and drives to victory.

Martin Truex Jr ($13,000)

It’s no secret that Martin Truex Jr. is really strong at 1.5-mile tracks. His two wins thus far in the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season have likely sparked momentum going forward for this team. Truex has tremendous stats at Kansas Speedway and that history should continue on Sunday. Take him this week in your NASCAR DFS lineup.

Alex Bowman ($9,200)

Alex Bowman has had a roller coaster start to the season. He has a good finish that everyone thinks will kickstart a great run one week, and then he finishes in the bottom half of the field the next. This week will be different than the last. Kansas Speedway owes him one after what happened back in the 2019 spring race. Bowman will get back on track with at least a top 10 finish this week.

Bubba Wallace ($6,500)

The value play for NASCAR DFS this week is Bubba Wallace. 23XI Racing is starting to put together great runs and they will be a force to be reckoned with going forward. Last week, Wallace won a stage at Talladega, giving him some momentum to build on. This team has corrected a lot of their wrongs from the early portion of the season. Bubba will be a good pick this week as long as they have no mistakes.

Buschy McBusch Race 400 Drivers to Avoid

Austin Dillon ($8,000)

Although he may seem like an intriguing cheaper option for your lineup, Austin Dillon’s starting spot for the Buschy McBusch Race 400 is starting too high for you to earn many NASCAR DFS points. The 8th place starting position is enough to scare me off of AD3. An average finishing position of just 14.5 at Kansas does not help his case for this weekend either.

Kurt Busch ($8,700)

This one hurts to write, but it is the truth. Kurt Busch has not had a top-10 run since the Dixie Vodka 400 at Homestead back in February. Over the last two months, he has failed to put together a strong run or garner much return when it comes to earning NASCAR DFS points. Ideally, he will have a few better showings before he winds up in a DFS lineup. Fade Kurt Busch for the foreseeable future.

Aric Almirola ($7,500)

We finally saw a good run out of Aric Almirola and the No. 10 team at Richmond. Do it again this week and they’ll be deserving of coming off the NASCAR DFS “avoid” list. As for now, he has to stay here because of the numerous poor performances to start the year and an average finish of just 17.8 at Kansas Speedway.

Ryan Newman ($6,000)

This call is purely based on Ryan Newman’s last 10 races at Kansas. Look, Rocketman is just terrible here, even if there is no clear reason as to why. An average finish of just 25th at the track is not even close to what you want out of a driver in your FanDuel NASCAR lineup. Well, if you want the best chance at winning anyways. Newman should stay FAR away from any competent DFS lineup this week.
