While the rumored AJ Brown trade did not come to fruition on Night 1 of the NFL Draft, that didn’t stop the Philadelphia Eagles from selecting a wide receiver. Now that he has his team, the Makai Lemon fantasy football outlook is a bit clearer. Obviously, there is so much that can happen between now and the regular season. Still, teams are mostly set, and dynasty rookie drafts will kick off as soon as next week.
Below, we will take a look at the draft profile for the former USC wide receiver. We will also give our instant takeaways about Makai Lemon’s fantasy value for both redraft and dynasty fantasy football leagues.

Makai Lemon Scouting Report
Strengths
There’s a reason that some analysts are drawing comparisons between Makai Lemon and Amon-Ra St. Brown. Lemon is a good slot receiver who has the quick acceleration and separation needed to get away from his man quickly. He doesn’t drop passes and, for the most part, runs really sharp routes as well.
Most impressively, Lemon is more than willing to help in run blocking, which is a must to produce at the NFL level. He wins contested catches more than not and has shown the ability to produce at a high volume.
Weaknesses
As partially mentioned earlier, he runs most routes well, but not all. He often looks impatient on more complicated routes, and it appears as if he rushes through double move routes. While Lemon does flash some ability after the catch, he does leave NFL teams wanting more when compared to other prospects like Carnell Tate. Lemon also doesn’t have the breakaway speed many NFL teams are looking for in a receiver in the current league.
Makai Lemon Fantasy Football Outlook
Lemon’s 2026 Value
It’s tough to get a read on just how excited we should be about Lemon from a fantasy standpoint in redraft formats for 2026. The main problem he will face is the fact that the Eagles already have a solid group of offensive weapons. Assuming AJ Brown is still on the roster, he will remain the alpha, and Devonta Smith is the clear second option.
Philadelphia also signed Marquise Brown as a free agent this offseason and traded for Dontayvion Wicks before the draft. The second of those two moves makes the decision to trade up three spots for Lemon all the more interesting. Of course, Dallas Goedert is in the mix for at least this season as well. That’s of note given that Lemon projects primarily as a slot receiver, and Goedert does his damage over the middle of the field.
Despite the draft capital invested in him, I’m not overly excited about Lemon’s redraft prospects at this juncture.
Makai Lemon Dynasty Fantasy Football Value
If the comparisons to Amon-Ra St. Brown come to full fruition, obviously Makai Lemon would make for a home-run pick in dynasty rookie drafts. Only time will tell on that front. For now, it seems likely that he will fall between picks 1.04 and 1.07. Compared to the landing spots of other rookie wideouts taken on Night 1 of the NFL Draft, I would argue that Lemon’s dynasty stock probably drops a bit relative to pre-draft projections.
