To be quite honest, things look a bit bleak for the former fourth overall pick. Entering his second professional season, the state of the team and the offensive situation he has found himself in could very well be worse than it was during his rookie season where he failed to meet many fantasy owners’ expectations. It is likely he got better through the offseason and will take a step forward in his own game, but he is not able to produce fantasy points on his own.
The quarterback situation in Atlanta is certainly concerning. We have not seen Marcus Mariota in a starting role for multiple seasons, and his last chunk of starts was not exactly a showcase of arm talent. If Mariota is not the answer, the offense falls into the hands of a rookie in Desmond Ridder, who has looked good enough to compete through two weeks of preseason, but as we all know, things can change very quickly once the games actually count.
Outside of the do-everything gadget man in Cordarrelle Patterson, Pitts is the clear top option for this Atlanta offense. Being the top guy always comes with positives and negatives. He will get plenty of targets, but will always be accounted for on defense. Until we see otherwise, there is no reason to believe he will be a consistent threat or any kind of threat in the red zone. In 17 games last year, he had over 1,000 yards but just one touchdown. Finding a way to put the ball in the end zone is ultimately going to determine where he finishes the 2022 NFL fantasy football season and could often decide your weekly matchups.

Should I Draft Kyle Pitts For Fantasy Football?
The ADP of Kyle Pitts was taken from Fantasy Football Calculator for PPR scoring on August 25th and sees Pitts taken with the 34th (3.10) pick and the third TE drafted. At this ADP, flipping a coin on Pitts is just not worth it. There are so many great players available at that point in a draft. It is senseless to take a guy who will more than likely be average amongst his peers.
He did finish his Rookie year as TE5, but his point total was closer to Noah Fant at TE9 than to George Kittle at TE3. At this point of his career, with the offensive support that is currently around him, the Kyle Pitts fantasy output will be replicable by players multiple rounds later.
