Kessler Edwards Highlights

Kessler Edwards NBA Draft Profile

Strengths

Physical attributes don’t appear to be much of a concern for Kessler Edwards. He has good size, athleticism and agility for the wing position. His biggest strength that NBA teams will covet is his 3-point shooting. Edwards shot a minimum of 37% from beyond the arc in each of his three collegiate seasons. At the same time, he averaged at least 4.0 attempts from deep per game. His jump shot has an unconventional release, he gets it off in a hurry. In addition, Edwards’ athleticism and quick hands make him a solid defensive player.

Weaknesses

Edwards is primarily being viewed as an early-to-mid Second Round pick for two things and two things only: three and D. He doesn’t appear to have the skill set to consistently create his own looks and be a primary scorer. Edwards struggled at times to shake defenders on drives to the cup at Pepperdine. In addition, his physical attributes are sound, but not overwhelming. He lacks explosion at the rim. The awkward shooting release shouldn’t be an issue. But then again, against NBA-caliber defenders, “should” is a dangerous word.
