The tight end position makes for an interesting point of discussion in dynasty fantasy football rookie drafts this year. For teams with a glaring weakness at the position, it is not a spot to leave unaddressed. For as loaded as the 2027 NFL Draft class projects to be, it is not expected to be strong at TE. Thus, many managers may be left trying to decide whether to prioritize Kenyon Sadiq and Eli Stowers as the top two players at the position in this year’s crop of rookies.

Below, we analyze whether Kenyon Sadiq or Eli Stowers is the better value pick in dynasty fantasy football rookie drafts. You can see where they are ranked in the FlurrySports dynasty fantasy football rookie rankings here!

Kenyon Sadiq Fantasy Football Outlook

The New York Jets selected Kenyon Sadiq with the 16th pick overall in the 2026 NFL Draft, making him the first tight end off the board. The Oregon product now finds himself in an interesting situation to begin his pro career.

The reasonable expectation is not that Sadiq immediately pushes Mason Taylor aside, but rather that the Jets lean into two-tight end sets at a high rate under new offensive coordinator Frank Reich, which makes sense given that New York has invested high draft capital at the position in back-to-back years.

As for the Kenyon Sadiq fantasy football outlook, he enters a crowded target share from day one. Garrett Wilson remains the clear WR1, while Omar Cooper Jr. was taken late in the First Round of the draft and has the ability to line up everywhere. Adonai Mitchell and Breece Hall will both factor into the passing game this season as well. That’s a lot of mouths for new quarterback Geno Smith to feed.

The other thing worth tempering expectations on is that the hype surrounding Sadiq is largely athleticism-driven. His 4.39 40-yard dash broke the all-time record for tight ends at the Combine, and the tools are undeniable. However, his 2025 production at Oregon — 51 catches, 560 yards, and 8 touchdowns across 14 games — doesn’t exactly exude dominance at the college level. The upside is real. The path to immediate fantasy relevance may be murkier than his draft slot suggests.

Eli Stowers Fantasy Football Outlook

The Philadelphia Eagles selected Eli Stowers 54th overall, making him the second tight end taken in the draft. The gap in draft capital between him and Sadiq has shaped the general dynasty fantasy football consensus — that Stowers is clearly a notch below in rookie drafts. That perceived discrepancy may be overstated.

Stowers is a converted quarterback, having started his college career at Texas A&M before first taking up the tight end position at New Mexico State and showcasing his abilities in the new role at Vanderbilt. The trajectory sounds unconventional, but it’s not without precedent — Logan Thomas followed a similar path from college QB to productive NFL tight end.

Concerning the immediate Eli Stowers fantasy football outlook in Philadelphia, Dallas Goedert is ahead of him on the depth chart. However, Goedert’s new deal is only for this upcoming season, meaning Stowers could be the Eagles’ starting tight end as soon as 2027.

What’s more, a season spent learning behind one of the better receiving tight ends in the league, in a run-first offense that has historically featured the TE heavily, is about as good a redshirt year as a rookie can ask for. Stowers needs to add bulk to his frame and improve as a blocker in order to maximize his playing time and potential at the next level. Thus, the situation around him is working in his favor as he will not be heavily relied upon in his rookie campaign.

Should I Draft Kenyon Sadiq or Eli Stowers in Dynasty Fantasy Football Drafts?

At present, Kenyon Sadiq ranks seventh overall in dynasty fantasy football rookie ADP with an average draft spot of 8.2. Eli Stowers slots in five spots below at 12th overall. His average draft position is nearly seven picks lower at 15.0. To translate these ADPs to actual dynasty rookie picks, Sadiq is essentially going in the mid-to-late first round while Stowers is most commonly being drafted in the early part of the second.

Both players are extremely athletic and could have bright futures in the NFL. The question of which rookie TE to draft ultimately requires having a vision beyond the upcoming season. From a value standpoint, I am more excited to take Eli Stowers in dynasty fantasy football drafts.

The rationale for leaning towards preferring Stowers over Sadiq comes down to two main points. First is their respective landing spots. I am far more trusting of the Eagles as an organization than the Jets. The other primary factor is simply the capital required to acquire each player.

Suppose you’re sitting at 1.05 or 1.06. This presents a prime opportunity to trade back rather than staying put for Sadiq. If you can land a late first or early second as part of your compensation, you are still in a position to grab Stowers and add another asset in the process. Meanwhile, if you hold a top-four pick with a more pressing need, there’s no reason to reach for Sadiq when the option is there to maneuver up a few spots at most from your second-round selection to grab Stowers.
