The 2022 NBA Draft is set to take place on Thursday, June 23rd. Following the results of the NBA Draft Lottery, we now have a full picture of this year’s order of picks. There are plenty of quality prospects in this year’s NBA Draft class. Among the players who could wind up being taken in the back half of the lottery is forward Jeremy Sochan out of Baylor. The following is a complete Jeremy Sochan draft profile including stats, highlights and an NBA Mock Draft projection.
Jeremy Sochan NBA Draft Profile, Stats, Highlights and Projection
When it comes to the defensive end of the floor, Jeremy Sochan stacks up against any and all members of the 2022 NBA Draft class. He has an endless motor and is also versatile in that he can guard any and all positions. His strength allows him to compete with bruising bigs down low. Sochan also has enough length and quickness to make life miserable for opposing guards on the perimeter. Sochan’s ballhandling skills are surprisingly crisp and fluid for a player of his size. Once again, his offensive skills put opponents in a bind. Defending him with a guard compromises significant size. At the same time, most post players are too slow to stay with Sochan on a drive to the basket.
Weaknesses
The glaring weakness in Sochan’s game as he gets set to make the jump to the pros after only one season at Baylor is his shot. He has limited range as far three-point shooting is concerned, even on catch-and-shoot attempts. Sochan will also need to improve his foul shooting after making less than 60% of his attempts in college. Another area in which he will need to improve is his post presence at the offensive end. While he has the physical attributes needed to create tremendous mismatches when opponents opt to switch on defense, Sochan has yet to display a consistent arsenal of post moves.
