Jaylen Warren’s fantasy football season has been solid, securing him the RB24 spot in PPR scoring with an average of around 11.3 fantasy points per game. This week, Warren is set to face the Colts, presenting a promising opportunity for another breakout performance.

Jaylen Warren Fantasy Football Outlook

The Colts have struggled against running backs in their recent games, conceding over 100 scrimmage yards and more than 13 PPR fantasy points to opposing running backs in the last four matchups. They currently rank third in allowing the most PPR fantasy points to the running back position over the last three weeks, five weeks, and the entire season. Despite this favorable matchup, there is a surprising twist that adds complexity to the Jaylen Warren fantasy football outlook.

Ironically, Warren has experienced a dip in performance since the departure of former offensive coordinator Matt Canada. During the 10 games under Canada’s play calling, Warren averaged an impressive 72.7 scrimmage yards, 0.3 touchdowns, and 12.4 PPR fantasy points. However, in the three games without Canada, these numbers plummeted to an average of 52.2 scrimmage yards, no touchdowns, and 7.9 PPR fantasy points.

The statistics suggest that Warren has struggled to adapt under a new offensive coordinator, failing to reach double-digit PPR fantasy points in all three games without Canada. Moreover, he has fallen short of surpassing 55 scrimmage yards in his two most recent games. The change in offensive coordinator, coupled with the Steelers’ current quarterback situation due to injury, appears to be impacting Warren’s performance. Additionally, the spotlight has shifted more toward Najee Harris in recent games, where Harris has capitalized on these favorable matchups against defenses ranked in the Top 17 for allowing the most fantasy points to running backs this season.

In summary, while the Colts present an intriguing matchup, Warren’s recent struggles without Matt Canada make him a less confident start. However, he can still offer a relatively safe floor for fantasy managers in need of points.
