NBA All-Star voting is underway and there are many players worthy of appearing in the NBA’s most star-studded event. The Boston Celtics sent Kemba Walker and Jayson Tatum to the 2020 All-Star game and many believe the two could return. However, many fail to consider Jaylen Brown.
Jaylen Brown Odds in NBA All-Star Voting
Brown’s odds of making the NBA All-Star game are 14th in the Eastern Conference, at +175. Jaylen Brown has never made the All-Star game, and is in his fifth season in the league. At 24 years old, Brown has been the rock of stability that has kept the Celtics competing for a top spot in the Eastern Conference.
Brown has played in all 17 games for the Celtics and is averaging 27.1 points (good for fourth in the Eastern Conference), 5.6 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. However, what has elevated Brown in the minds of fans around the league is his efficiency. For his first four years in the NBA, Brown shot 46.8% from the field and 37.1% from three-point range during regular season play.
Not bad for a player whose biggest critique in the 2016 NBA Draft was his shooting ability.
Through 17 games, Brown is taking 19.7 shots per game. He is also shooting 44.1% from three-point range and 52.2% from the field. All three of those numbers are career-highs for Jaylen Brown.
Brown is primed to earn his first All-Star appearance this season. Will he join the ranks of the NBA’s elite stars?
