According to Haslametrics’ All-Play Estimates and automated game preview, the Stetson Hatters are projected to take care of the Jacksonville Dolphins, 72-65.
Jacksonville vs Stetson Prediction
Jacksonville has had an incredible run so far in the ASUN Tournament and all of that can be attributed to just two players. Forward Bryce Workman and guard Robert McCray V have been putting this team on their back. During the regular season, the pair averaged over 30 points per game. In their first two tournament games, they have combined for 48 and 49 points, respectively.
Stetson may not have the two-man firepower that Jacksonville has, but they certainly have depth. They had four players average double digits in the regular season, led by guard Jalen Blackmon who averaged just over 21 points per game. Those four players who averaged double figures during the season accounted for 67 of the team’s 83 points in their quarterfinal win over Queens University.
In their two previous matchups this year, Stetson came out the winners in both. Although Jacksonville didn’t have either Workman or McCray in their first matchup, they were both on the floor in their most recent game that saw Stetson ease to an 86-73 victory. For as fun of a story Jacksonville has been, Stetson is just too deep and too good. They are at a different level than Kennesaw State, and will surely shoot better than 18% from deep like Eastern Kentucky did in the quarterfinals against Jacksonville.
