As we reach the point in the NFL offseason where rookies are at OTAs and veterans are starting to sign to their future teams, now is as good of a time as any to evaluate your dynasty fantasy football teams. With big names signing to teams and rookies making splash plays, there are sure to be some big moves to make to get an early jump on winning a championship.
Getting a jump start on your team before Training Camp in July may give you an advantage, so you can feel more comfortable when it is time to cut your roster down. With that being said, here are three dynasty fantasy football players to trade for right now.
3 Dynasty Fantasy Football Players to Trade For
Isaiah Likely, TE (Baltimore Ravens)
Isaiah Likely is in a really interesting spot in Baltimore, because as he is in the last year of his deal, it feels like the Ravens are finally start to use him in a stronger featured role. Using what we saw in Week 1 against the Kansas Chiefs last season, Likely flawlessly fits into the Baltimore Ravens offense.
Mark Andrews, while sporting a strong second half of the season last year, will be 30 in early September. With his injury history, it is hard to believe that his best days are ahead of him yet. With Andrews also being in the last year of his deal, there is no indication that the Ravens plan on bringing him back on a player-friendly deal. The point stands, though, that if the Ravens agree with Andrews to extend him, Likely could move on in free agency.
If Likely were to move in free agency, it seems likely that he would become an instant starting tight end with whatever team he ends up with. If the Ravens move on from Andrews, then it seems likely that Likely starts as the tight end for one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. Either way, come 2026, it seems Likely will be featured in a much more prominent role than he is currently.
Trey Benson, RB (Arizona Cardinals)
If you watch our dynasty startup videos on the FlurrySports YouTube page, you know that I am all in on Trey Benson for the future. First and foremost, the Cardinals spent major draft capital on him last season, drafting Benson in the third round of the NFL Draft last season. In his rookie season, Benson totaled 291 rushing yards and one touchdown. While those don’t seem like high numbers, they came on the back of a mostly healthy season from James Conner in front of him. Conner, while a great running back when healthy, is 30 years old and has never completed a full season fully healthy.
Given Conner’s injury history and age, it is not hard to believe that Benson sees a larger uptick in work this season, as he should be set to take over this backfield in the not-too-distant future. I know that many people were high on Benson, but after seeing his lack of work last season, I would guess that has left a sour taste in many people’s mouths. Looking ahead, Benson has no competition for the second running back spot on the depth chart, and if you can trade a late second-round pick for him, I think you are going to be very happy with the return.
RJ Harvey, RB (Denver Broncos)
Coming out of the NFL Draft, it looked like the Broncos had locked up their clear number one running back in RJ Harvey. Those who ran their rookie draft early and came away with Harvey in the late first round and early second round looked like geniuses. While that thought still stands, the signing of J.K. Dobbins makes the Denver Broncos’ backfield a little more confusing.
All of a sudden, Harvey’s path to an immediate workhorse role is threatened, as Dobbins made a great bounce-back year in Los Angeles last season. With Dobbins in town, those who drafted Harvey may be a little scared off compared to when they drafted him. To me, that screams for you to go out and get him. Even with Dobbins in town, there is still a role for Harvey to see carries.
The Broncos still employ one of the better offensive lines in the NFL, and we know that Sean Payton wants to run somewhat of a committee in the backfield. Even after a solid season last year, Dobbins is just one year removed from a bad Achilles injury, and he will not be relied on to be a workhorse.
It may take a little bit for you to go out and get Harvey, but in the long run, it certainly can be worth it. Harvey looks to be one of the better dynasty fantasy football trade targets.
