It takes a long time for a Tampa Bay Rays player to shake off the vibe that their success is more about their value than the team’s “secret formula” to success. And perhaps that’s why Isaac Paredes doesn’t jump out to fantasy baseball owners immediately. However, at a closer look, Isaac Parades could be a 2024 fantasy baseball breakout candidate at third base.

Isaac Paredes Fantasy Baseball Breakout Candidate

Isaac Paredes is the fill-in for Wander Franco Jr’s exit from the league. Paredes finished a full season’s value with over 30 HRs, just under 100 RBIs, and an .840 OPS. He was a top-10 fantasy baseball infielder for most of the year, but that hasn’t carried over to this year’s Isaac Paredes fantasy baseball value in drafts.

Paredes is listed in most leagues as an option for 3B, 2B and 1B, and he would be a good to great value in all of them. His ADP has him as a backup in each of those positions, and leaving the board near the end of most drafts. At 2B especially, Paredes could be an awesome pickup even in the 10th round of many drafts, and could be your utility piece to build around. Most surprisingly, despite Paredes mentioned in trade talks, it still hasn’t helped his draft stock. He’ll be a fixture for the Rays, but they do love to platoon guys, so a trade could even further solidify him as a starter on anyone’s fantasy team.
