Spring is here, and like every year, one of the most anticipated events amongst U.S fans, “the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo,” is all set to deliver entertainment for three non-stop weeks, starting from today, February 28, to Sunday, March 19, 2023, at NRG Stadium, Houston. In this historic event, fans see competitions between local athletes and arena concerts by the best musicians in the world. In addition, fans witness livestock competitions, auctions and other events like horse riding. With visiting marks crossing 2.5 million and millions watching from their homes and offices, the Houston Rodeo event has more audience than most of the country’s famous sports and cultural events.

Better known as Rodeo Houston, the annual Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is one of the wealthiest rodeo events, with a $2.17 million money purse. In the event, the top 280 professional cowboys will compete against each other in the SuperShootout. This year, two new local qualifiers will be seen in this RODEOHOUSTON event; the Fort Bend County Fair and Rodeo in Rosenberg, Texas, and the Waller County Fair & Rodeo in Hempstead, Texas. They will replace the former qualifier, Sandhills Stock Show & Rodeo, in Odessa, Texas.

2023 Houston Rodeo Preview:

The champions of each event will receive $50K after the playoffs. Moreover, the top 10 North American rodeo champions are also invited to compete in the team events. This year, Rodeo Houston announced splitting its previous one-day Wild Card round into a two-day event, eliminating the Rodeo Houston Super Shootout. After that, winners of each prior event will compete for the grand champion title.

Talking about performance shows, every night of the 20-day event, when the Rodeo dust settles, a world-class musician takes the stage and entertains the fans.

In the past, several big names have performed in rodeo events, such as Bob Dylan, Elvis Presley, John Legend, Bon Jovi, Beyoncé, Selena Gomez, blink-182, Demi Lovato, Fifth Harmony, Ariana Grande, John Legend, Jonas Brothers, Taylor Swift, and many others.

This year, Country star ‘Parker McCollum’ will perform on the opening day, while American Idol star ‘Lauren Daigle’ is scheduled to perform on the second day. In the list country singer ‘Cody Jinks’ and ‘The Chainsmokers’ are also included.

2023 Houston Rodeo Tickets:

Fans can enjoy the event live by purchasing tickets from the official ticketing site. Tickets for the event range from $4 to $605. Moreover, fans can also buy a season pass as well.

  • While going to watch the event, there are some rules you should know:
  • Children age two and under do not require a ticket.
  • Tickets won’t be refunded in any weather.
  • No food or drink from outside is allowed to be taken into NRG Stadium.
  • On-site ticket sales will end when the performer goes on stage daily in a three-week event.
  • Online ticket sales would end two hours before the event time.
