Dubois vs Usyk Preview and Prediction

Comparing both fighters, Dubois has a height advantage of inches, but both have equal reach. And despite the same number of fights, the Ukrainian fighter is more experienced, making his debut in 2013, compared to his opponent, who turned pro in 2017. In terms of rounds, Usyk has fought 168 to Dubois’ 63, showing the experience difference between the two fighters.

Usyk was expected to fight fellow belt-holder Tyson Fury for the undisputed championship. However, that couldn’t happen and can only happen if Usyk beats Dubois and Fury overcomes Francis Ngannou on October 28.

In his last fight, the former 200-pound champion broke a record when he overcame Anthony Joshua via 12 12-round split decision for the second time, becoming the only man to ever register consecutive victories against the British superstar.

Coming to the fight, Usyk’s confidence will be through the roof as he enters with an undefeated record of 20-0 (13 KOs). He boasts the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight titles and will put them all on the line against a Londoner opponent.

On the other hand, is 25-year-old Daniel Dubois currently ranked 8th by the WBO in the 201lb division. This fight marks the first world title shot for the British fighter who boasts a record of 19-1 with 90% of Knockout wins.

Coming to the fight, the Londoner fighter last fought around nine months ago against South African opponent Kevin Lerena, where he hit the canvas three times due to a broken eye socket. Still, it recovered well and won via 3rd round TKO after Lerena surprisingly stopped punching completely.

It’s worth mentioning that he suffered a right knee injury in that fight and had undergone surgery to repair the problem, which, according to some, might not be in the best shape after just eight months.

In the Co-main event, 2012 Olympics Silver medalist Berinchyk (17-0), who turned pro in 2015, will take on Yigit (27-3-1) in a 12-round bout. Yigit was on a 22-fight unbeaten streak before he lost to Ivan Baranchyk in 2018 for the IBF super lightweight title. He is now coming to the bout after winning over Jacob Quinn in May.

Besides these fights, a number of other anticipated fights are also scheduled on the Usyk vs DDD fight card, including Britain’s Commonwealth middleweight champion Hamzah Sheeraz vs Ukraine’s Dmytro Mytrofanov. Prince Naseem Hamed’s son, Aadam Hamed, is also scheduled to make his pro debut against a fighter still unknown.
