NBA fans were treated to a thrilling game on Wednesday night between the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers moved on to face the Phoenix Suns in the first round, and now the Warriors are in a win-or-go-home situation. This NBA betting preview for the Memphis Grizzlies vs Warriors Play-In Tournament matchup will provide game info, betting trends, odds and a prediction for the game.

Grizzlies vs Warriors Betting Preview and Prediction | NBA Play-In Tournament

Memphis Grizzlies (38-34, 20-16) vs. Golden State Warriors (39-33, 25-11 Home)
    Date: Friday, May 21st, 2021
    Time: 9:00 pm EST
Venue: Chase Center – San Francisco, CA
    Coverage: ESPN

The Memphis Grizzlies were on the winning side of a close contest with the San Antonio Spurs to reach this game. Dillon Brooks has emerged as a dangerous weapon for this team, with his ability to both shoot from three-point range and attack the rim. Jonas Valančiūnas has also emerged as a man on a mission for this squad and has been playing the best basketball of his career.

My biggest takeaway from the Warriors game on Wednesday is that Curry is always going to get his. There is no way around it. The Grizzlies have to make the difficult decision of focusing their energy on stopping Curry or taking away his teammates. Either way, the Grizzlies seem outmatched in this game, but this is also a team that has a lot of fight in it, so the Warriors should not take this game lightly.

These two teams last faced off in the final regular season game on May 16. In that game, the Warriors won, 113-101. Curry put up 46 points and sank nine shots from beyond the arc. Additionally, Andrew Wiggins scored 21 points and Draymond Green scored 14 points. In order to win this game, the Grizzlies need to takeaway Curry’s teammates. To try to stop Curry is an endeavor few have ever succeeded in attempting. But stopping Wiggins and Green? That is much more manageable. For the Warriors, they will need to focus on not allowing this game to become a three-point contest.

    Grizzlies vs Warriors Prediction

This NBA prediction uses NumberFire’s probability model. They give the Golden State Warriors a 58.0% chance to win this NBA Play-In Tournament matchup.

I would agree whole heartedly with this prediction. Whether you think the league is rigged for better ratings or the Warriors are simply the better team is irrelevant, because all signs point to Golden State emerging as the victor to face off with Utah Jazz in the first round of the playoffs.
