The Memphis Grizzlies will probably not be NBA champions this season, but their franchise and fans alike should be encouraged by their tremendous group of young talent navigating the NBA Summer League. The Grizzlies won their matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves by a score of 95-92, thank to an impressive performance from Brandon Clarke.
Brandon Clarke MVP
Fresh off of a double-double in his last outing, Brandon Clarke was not messing around tonight either. The Gonzaga product posted an impressive statline by scoring 15 points (4/9), snagging 16 rebounds and dishing out four assists to go along with a steal and three blocks. The rookie was MVP of the Summer League.
Timberwolves’ First Summer Loss
The Timberwolves did not go down without a fight and even cut the score to just a two-point game with 10 seconds left. Kelley Martin led the Timberwolves in scoring with, 19 points, and Naz Reid was able to grab 10 rebounds. Jordan McLaughlin had an impressive three steals in 28 minutes of play. This was the Minnesota T-Wolves’ first, and only, loss in NBA Summer League and they certainly have a lot to be proud of.
