Javon Bullard Scouting Report
Strengths
One of the biggest strengths of Bullard is that he has incredible field awareness and route recognition. He mostly played as safety but also had plenty of snaps in the slot as well. Bullard likely will become a nickel at the next level and is willing to help out in run support and crashes on receiver’s routes well. He also has good route recognition and does a good job getting off of blockers as well.
Weaknesses
One of the biggest weaknesses for Bullard is with his speed. If he is tasked to be a free safety, he will have trouble covering a lot of space. If he plays corner, he will have trouble staying tight on faster receivers in the NFL. With his lack of speed, he’ll need help over the top and also will likely struggle in press coverage if he can’t jam the receiver at the line.
What to Expect From Javon Bullard in 2024
For Bullard, his expectations vary greatly on what the Packers plan to do with him. While he did play safety in college, it would appear he fits best in a role as a nickel, or as a slot cornerback role. He doesn’t have the speed to be an outside receiver and he would have trouble covering enough ground as a free safety. Assuming Green Bay plays him at his position, he should be a solid starter in the NFL.
