Seattle Seahawks (37.7%)
In recent years, the Seahawks haven’t exactly been synonymous with playing great defense. Things appear to be different in the current NFL season. While this may not be a defense quite the same caliber as the “Legion of Boom,” Seattle has clearly taken massive strides. Jordyn Brooks and Bobby Wagner form a hard-hitting linebacker duo and there is a healthy mix of young talent and established vets at all three levels.
As for the appeal of the Seahawks as a fantasy football Week 8 defense streamers candidate, the matchup against the Cleveland Browns is a primary factor. The Browns’ offense comes in with a depleted backfield. Deshaun Watson is out once again, making PJ Walker the starting quarterback. This is hardly intimidating. With the 12th Man behind them, the Seahawks should put together a solid fantasy line.
Atlanta Falcons (20.4%)
The much-improved Falcons defense continues to fly under the radar heading into Week 8, evidenced by their low ownership across ESPN fantasy football leagues. Atlanta’s numbers have been solid across the board, with eight total sacks in the last two games serving as a recent highlight. To date, no team has scored more than 24 points against this unit.
It seems pretty safe to say that the middling Tennessee Titans won’t be the first to break that streak. The Titans come in averaging only 17.0 points per game. They are severely lacking in terms of big-play capabilities and this is largely due to poor offensive line play. Oh, and to top it all off, reports suggest that rookie QB Will Levis will be starting Sunday’s game. Sacks, interceptions, and low points allowed projection all align to make Atlanta a solid fantasy football streamers option.

New York Giants (21.2%)
The Giants’ defense may be devoid of much talent in the secondary, but Wink Martindale has the troops firing on all cylinders in recent weeks. New York posted a fruitful fantasy football stat line in last Sunday’s win over Washington. The performance included six sacks, an interception and a blocked kick. Prior to that, the Giants stymied Buffalo’s offense on the road and forced three turnovers against Miami.
Another AFC East foe looms this weekend as the Giants “play host” to the New York Jets. While clearly viewed as the weaker of the Meadowlands’ two resident clubs, the Giants should be able to take advantage of this matchup for fantasy football streamers. Zach Wilson is still the Jets’ quarterback, and the offensive line remains suspect when it comes to pass protection. Dexter Lawrence, Kayvon Thibodeaux and Leonard Williams should be able to win in the trenches.
