Last week was actually a very productive one for tight ends in fantasy football. A total of 16 TEs scored double-digit PPR fantasy points. Considering how shallow and unreliable the position has been in recent years, it was a welcome sight for many managers. Add in the fact that four teams were on bye (including two top-5 players in terms of ADP at the position) and it was quite a pleasant surprise. Six more teams are idle in Week 7, making it paramount for managers to find adequate fantasy football streamers.

Read on for three fantasy football streamers at tight end for Week 7 of the NFL season. At the end of the column, readers will also find lists containing the starting tight ends on bye this week as well as a few players who might be worth fading in difficult matchups.

Week 7 Fantasy Football TE Streamers

Ownership percentages reflect all ESPN Fantasy Football leagues

Ricky Seals-Jones | Washington Football Team (at GB)

Current Ownership: 36.4%

When it comes to fantasy football streamers, managers will be hard-pressed to find one with as reliable a snap count as Ricky Seals-Jones. After playing 99% of Washington’s offensive snaps in Week 5, Seals-Jones did himself one better last Sunday. While the Football Team was hardly competitive in a lopsided loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, Seals-Jones still turned in a solid fantasy day for those who streamed him in Week 6. He hauled in four of six targets for 58 yards a score, finishing as the TE6 in PPR with 15.8 fantasy points.

While the target share and red zone looks are great, the most encouraging aspect of Seals-Jones’ Week 6 outing was that he was on the field for 100% of Washington’s offensive snaps. He should continue to see ample playing time for as long as starter Logan Thomas remains sidelined by an injury. Seals-Jones is reportedly dealing with a quad injury himself this week. However, it doesn’t appear to be anything that will keep him from playing on Sunday. Washington’s Week 7 opponent, the Green Bay Packers, have allowed nearly 10 fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends on the season.

C.J. Uzomah | Cincinnati Bengals (at BAL)

Current Ownership: 6.0%

Although he has yet to replicate his monster Thursday night performance from Week 4, C.J. Uzomah continues to linger on the fantasy football streamers watchlist. He was among the 16 tight ends to score double-digit PPR points last week, catching all three of his targets for 15 yards and a score. Admittedly, the touchdown was what saved his fantasy day. However, Uzomah is not lacking in playing time by any means. He was on the field for 69.4% of the Bengals’ offensive snaps in Week 6, second only to Ja’Marr Chase among skill players. While his target ceiling isn’t high, it’s worth noting that he has seen multiple looks in all but one game thus far.

Expecting Uzomah to repeat his TE1 showing from Week 4 is foolish. However, in a week where six teams are on bye and other tight ends face difficult matchups, he makes for a viable fantasy football streamers consideration. The Bengals will face the AFC North rival Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. Injuries have hampered a Baltimore defense that has allowed an average of 14.2 fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends. That is the fifth-most of any team in the NFL. If the Ravens’ pass rush gets home, Burrow might look to Uzomah often on Sunday as a quick safety valve over the middle.

Ross Dwelley | San Francisco 49ers (vs IND)

Current Ownership: 0.7%

The 49ers are coming off of their bye week, but it is still somewhat surprising to see Ross Dwelley rostered in so few leagues. While he did only catch two passes for 25 yards two weeks ago, it should be noted that rookie Trey Lance was under center for the 49ers in that game. All signs point to veteran Jimmy Garoppolo returning to the lineup in Week 7. Dwelley figures to benefit from the quarterback change alone. With George Kittle remaining on IR, he is the clear TE1 for the Niners until further notice.

The other factor that Dwelley had working against him two weeks ago was the defensive matchup. That game was against a stout Arizona Cardinals defense that has given up the fewest fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends. The same cannot be said for San Francisco’s opponent on Sunday Night Football this week, the Indianapolis Colts. The last time the Colts played in primetime in Week 5, they got torched by Ravens’ TE Mark Andrews for over 41 fantasy points. By no means are we saying Dwelley can do the same on Sunday night. However, the matchup upside is there to make him a worthwhile fantasy football streamers play in deep leagues this week.
