Josh Palmer Fantasy Outlook
If you missed out on Quentin Johnston or are in need of an immediate starter for the next 2-3 weeks, look no further than Josh Palmer. Mike Williams is out for the year following a knee injury, and Palmer is the clear short-term beneficiary.
Palmer was targeted seven times in Week 2, tallying 66 yards and a touchdown. The Chargers have a favorable home matchup against the Raiders slated for Week 4, and Palmer is the quickest route toward getting exposure to this electric Chargers offense in the short term.
Josh Downs Fantasy Outlook
While most of the wide receiver waiver chatter this week has revolved around Tank Dell and Quentin Johnston, Josh Downs has emerged as an under-the-radar addition. Downs has out-targeted Alec Pierce each week to start the season, which is significant given Pierce was the presumed WR2 heading into the season.
The rookie wide receiver was targeted 12 times by Gardner Minshew on Sunday, hauling in eight catches for 52 yards. While his upside diminishes when Anthony Richardson returns, his volume suggests he’s the likely WR2 on the Colts behind Michael Pittman Jr.
Adam Thielen Fantasy Outlook
Adam Thielen had been all but written off following a dud Week 1 performance that saw him targeted just twice. But in Weeks 2 and 3 combined, Thielen has been targeted 23 times, racking up nearly 200 yards and two touchdowns.
Andy Dalton targeted Thielen 12 times on Sunday and, even if Bryce Young returns, Thielen still provides a solid floor for starter-needy rosters. Thielen also has a favorable matchup against his former team, the Minnesota Vikings, at home in Week 4.
