One of the most-streamed positions in fantasy football is tight end. There are many reasons for this, but it is mostly due to inconsistency and matchup dependence. Playing the best matchup at TE could be a successful strategy for you this season. To help you with this, we have come up with three fantasy football Week 2 TE streamers for you to consider.
Pick the right fantasy football streamers option to get the win this week and continue down the path of fantasy greatness, which ends with you hoisting your league’s trophy, championship belt or champ chain.
Players must be owned in less than 60 percent of ESPN leagues to be included in the fantasy football Week 2 TE streamers column. All ownerships for players will be provided and will reflect that of Wednesday morning, once waivers are processed.
Fantasy Football Week 2 TE Streamers
Sam LaPorta Fantasy Outlook (41.9%)
Can anyone explain to me why Sam LaPorta is owned only in 42% of fantasy leagues? The only reason I can come up with is so he can be featured in my fantasy football Week 2 TE streamers article. Of course, people are always hesitant with rookie TEs, which may be the larger reason for his availability.
However, Sam LaPorta isn’t a typical rookie tight end. Most rookie TEs have to learn to block, but LaPorta showcased his ability to move bodies in Week 1, which is a big reason why he played 82% of offensive snaps while the rest of the Detroit Lions rookies were limited. He is a major part of this offense, and LaPorta should continue to see consistent targets, which is all we really can ask for from a fantasy TE.
Zach Ertz Fantasy Outlook (43.2%)
We weren’t sure if Zach Ertz was going to be active for the Arizona Cardinals in Week 1. Not only was he active, but he also led the team in targets (10) and receptions (6). His performance was strong enough to earn him fantasy football TE12 honors for the week.
Ertz also played 77% of the offensive snaps, which clearly was enough to produce a strong performance. However, he could see a bit more as he gets healthier. With weak quarterback play and no proven receiving weapons alongside him, targeting the reliable veteran tight end makes sense for the Cardinals moving forward.
Hunter Henry Fantasy Outlook (19.6%)
The New England Patriots offense looks respectable now that an actual offensive coordinator is running things. We assumed the Bill O’Brien offense was going to utilize the talents of Hunter Henry at tight end quite a bit, and it was nice to see this assumption come to fruition in Week 1.
Henry finished the game with five receptions for 56 yards and a touchdown, which was enough for him to finish the week as the fantasy football TE1. I know, it was a pathetic week. Regardless, Henry produced better than any tight end to take the field, there is limited competition for targets in New England, and he is still relatively unowned. Clearly, he is a great option amongst our fantasy football Week 2 TE streamers.
