Fantasy Football Week 13 RB Streamers
Jeremy McNichols Fantasy Outlook (7.9%)
Jeremy McNichols rushed for 22 yards on three carries in the Commanders’ 34-26 loss to Dallas. McNichols earns a spot on this list largely because the Commanders’ backfield is in disarray. Austin Ekeler left Week 12’s game with an apparent concussion, and Brian Robinson exited with an ankle injury.
With Ekeler likely to miss time and Robinson dealing with his injury, McNichols’ role is expected to expand significantly in Week 13. As we know, volume is king at the running back position. While the Titans boast a strong run defense, presenting a tough challenge for McNichols, the sheer number of injuries in the backfield makes him an intriguing option. The increased workload likely coming his way is hard to ignore.
Gus Edwards Fantasy Outlook (34.4%)
Gus Edwards rushed for 11 yards on nine carries in the Chargers’ 30-23 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football. Edwards salvaged his week with a late touchdown in garbage time. He was also targeted once in the passing game but failed to record a reception.
J.K. Dobbins left Monday night’s game with a knee injury (yes, that knee), and the outlook didn’t appear promising. If Dobbins misses time, Edwards would likely take over as the primary running back for a team whose identity revolves around running the ball. With an expected increase in volume and his established role at the goal line, Edwards becomes a startable option for Week 13 against the Atlanta Falcons.
Ameer Abdullah Fantasy Outlook (19.5%)
Ameer Abdullah rushed for 28 yards on eight carries in the Raiders’ 29-19 loss to Denver in Week 12. He also caught 5-of-6 targets for 37 yards and a touchdown. With both Alexander Mattison and Zamir White sidelined, Abdullah stepped in as the de facto No. 1 back on Sunday and made the most of his opportunity.
While Mattison and White could potentially return ahead of Week 13, Abdullah remains an intriguing fantasy football streamer option if either is unavailable. Although he may not be heavily involved in the rushing attack, a matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs could create a favorable game script for a capable pass-catching running back like Abdullah.
