Fantasy Football Week 10 Add/Drop

So far this season, there have only been a maximum of four teams on bye in a given week. In Week 10, there are six teams on off, which is going to be very problematic for many fantasy owners. The teams on bye are the Broncos, Texans, Jaguars, Patriots, Eagles and Redskins. With all of these teams on bye, the waiver wire should be active and some owners will need to get creative to fill a starting lineup.

Here are some of my favorite adds for Week 10 in the fantasy football season.

To be considered as a possible “add,” they need to be owned in less than 60 percent of ESPN leagues. The drops on this list are by no means must-drop, but rather they are droppable.

QB/RB Adds

Kirk Cousins, QB, Minnesota Vikings (56.7%)

Kirk Cousins has thrown for over 200 yards in six straight games. In that time, he has thrown an impressive 13 touchdowns and only one interception. The Vikings play the Cowboys and Broncos over the next two weeks and could prove to be difficult matchups for Cousins. But with so many teams on bye, you may need to start Cousins in Week 10.

Jimmy Garoppolo, QB, San Francisco 49ers (33.5%)

Garoppolo’s Week 9 performance against the Arizona Cardinals was his best of the season. He threw for 317 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions. The 49ers play the Seahawks in Week 10 and the Cardinals again in Week 11. If Garoppolo and Sanders continues to build on the chemistry they are already showing, the passing game will only continue to get better.

Ronald Jones, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (37.8%)

Jones has not been a consistent fantasy player so far in 2019, but things have started to trend in the right direction. His 18 carries for 67 yards and a touchdown in Week 9 was his best game since Week 4 against the Rams. Through nine weeks, Jones has rushed for 4.1 yards per carry and has proven himself to Bruce Arians. On Monday, Arians said that “Ronald Jones has earned the right to start and play more snaps”.

Alexander Mattison, RB, Minnesota Vikings (21.0%)

Through nine weeks, the Vikings already have nearly 1,400 rushing yards, showing just how committed they are to the run. Dalvin Cook is responsible for nearly 900 rushing yards, but Alexander Mattison is second on the team, with 337 yards. In Week 9 Mattison was only on the field for six offensive snaps and had only six rushing yards, which were both season lows. If Cook is to miss any time, Mattison is in line to get the full workload and he has shown that he is more than capable.

Kareem Hunt, RB, Cleveland Browns (59.2%)

The Cleveland Browns will have Kareem Hunt on the field for the first time this season, in Week 10. So far this season, Nick Chubb has rushed for at least 60 yards in every game and will likely remain the leading RB for the Browns. If Hunt is still available in your league, make sure to add him this week.

Derrius Guice, RB, Washington Redskins (32.6%)

The Redskins are on a bye in Week 10, but Guice will be activated over the next couple of weeks. When Bill Callahan took over as coach, he said the team needed to run more. Since then, Adrian Peterson has had at least 14 carries for at least 76 carries in each week. If Guice is able to get on the field and get that workload, he will be a worthy weekly start.

Darrell Henderson, RB, Los Angeles Rams (21.2%)

After getting off to a somewhat slow start to the fantasy season, Henderson has started to heat up without Malcolm Brown in the lineup. When either Gurley or Brown missed the game, Henderson has been on the field for at least 30% of the offensive snaps. There is no news on Brown’s availability for Week 10 yet, but Henderson is worth a speculative add.

Kalen Ballage, RB, Miami Dolphins (8.8%)

Through the first nine weeks of the season, Ballage has not had more than 20 rushing yards in a single game. With Mark Walton suspended for the next four weeks, Ballage is in line for a lot of touches and should have his first game of over 20 yards. I personally would not start Ballage over the next two weeks, against the Colts or Bills, but his Week 12 matchup against the Browns has the potential to be a favorable matchup. Ballage is worth a speculative add in deeper leagues, or if you find yourself in desperate need of a starting RB.

DeVante Parker

Pass Catcher Adds

DeVante Parker, WR, Miami Dolphins (22.8%)

Following a pretty terrible start to the 2019 season, Parker has really turned things around and has become a consistent WR for fantasy. He has scored a touchdown in four of his last five games. With Preston Williams missing the remainder of the season, Parker should see an increase in targets and will become an even safer fantasy starter. The Dolphins are also likely to be trailing in most games and will need to rely heavily on the passing game.

Cole Beasley, WR, Buffalo Bills (26.4%)

Cole Beasley is the perfect bye week fill-in at the WR position. His floor is very safe and he has a favorable schedule over the next couple of weeks. In all but two games, Beasley has had over 40 yards or a touchdown. Beasley leads the Bills in red zone targets, catching all four with three being touchdowns. Beasley has scored a touchdown in three straight games.

Zach Pascal, WR, Indianapolis Colts (6.6%)

Over his past three games, Pascal has caught 12 of his 15 targets for 188 yards and three touchdowns. Two of the touchdowns came in the team’s Week 7 victory against the Texans. With Hilton expected to miss multiple weeks, it looks like Pascal will be in line for more targets. When Hilton missed the Colts Week 4 game, Pascal had four catches for 72 yards on seven targets.

Corey Davis, WR, Tennessee Titans  (51.8%)

Since his Week 7 breakout against the Chargers, Davis has not produced many fantasy points, disappointing his owners. However, since Tannehill has taken over, Davis has not seen less than five targets in a given game. This opportunity is likely to lead to more fantasy-relevant weeks. But the Titans play the Chiefs in Week 10 and have a bye in Week 11, so you may need to wait until Week 12 to start him against the Jaguars.

Jamison Crowder, WR, New York Jets (54.7%)

Jamison Crowder has had four games with over 80 receiving yards so far in 2019, and he is the team’s leading receiver. Since Darnold returned to the lineup in Week 6, Crowder has not seen less than five targets in a game. Over the next five weeks, the Jets play the Giants, Redskins, Raiders, Bengals and Dolphins, which are all favorable matchups for the WR position.

Chris Herndon, TE, New York Jets (23.5%)

Herndon was active for Week 9, but he was not on the field for a single snap, while Ryan Griffin was on the field for over 90% of the offensive snaps. Though Griffin likely has not been started in many fantasy lineups, he has had two fantasy relevant weeks this season. If Herndon is given a similar usage to what we have seen for Griffin, we should be able to expect Herndon to pick back up where he left off last season.
