Any given Sunday in the NFL gives us a whole new set of fantasy football trends each week. We have organized some of the big trends here in order to help you answer some of the questions you may have about these trending fantasy football players for NFL Week 8.

Kenneth Walker III Injury Update | Week 8 Fantasy Football Trends

Kenneth Walker III gave us quite the scare earlier this week when he missed practice on both Wednesday and Thursday practices due to a calf injury. However, the Kenneth Walker injury update is a positive one, as he now carries no injury designation and is confirmed to be in the lineup for Sunday’s game.

With the uncertainty of his injury status now behind us, the Browns’ recent defensive performances have created a promising outlook for Kenneth Walker’s fantasy production. In their last two games, the Browns have allowed opposing running backs to exceed 14 PPR points. What’s more, they’ve yielded three total touchdowns to running backs in their most recent two matchups.

Given this favorable matchup and Walker’s proven ability to capitalize on such opportunities, fantasy managers should feel confident in deploying him this week. The absence of any injury designation only solidifies his status as a must-start player. With the Browns’ recent struggles against running backs, there’s every reason to expect another strong fantasy performance from Kenneth Walker III in the upcoming game.

Darren Waller Injury Update | Week 8 Fantasy Football Trends

Darren Waller’s availability for the upcoming game has been a topic of concern, as he’s been limited in all three practices this week due to a hamstring issue. Despite the questionable Darren Waller injury designation, there are strong indications that he will take the field. Assuming Darren Waller is indeed active, you should start him, unless you have a better tight end.

Since Week 5, he has been a contributor, ranking third in targets (26), receptions (20) and yards (227) among all tight ends. Furthermore, he has secured the TE3 spot in PPR scoring during this period. Notably, his performance has been notably better when Tyrod Taylor has been at the helm compared to games with Daniel Jones. This impressive streak is poised to continue, particularly against the Jets. The Jets have had some difficulties defending against tight ends, allowing the most touchdowns to the position this year with five. Additionally, they have surrendered the second-highest number of fantasy points to tight ends this season.

Considering the favorable matchup and Waller’s recent performances, fantasy managers should have confidence in starting him if he is active. Tyrod Taylor actively targeting him and the Jets’ struggles against tight ends create an enticing opportunity for him to shine once again in this upcoming game.

Derrick Henry Trade Rumors | Week 8 Fantasy Football Trends

Derrick Henry’s name has been circulating in trade rumors, especially after the Titans traded Kevin Byard to the Eagles. While Derrick Henry trade destinations and the reasons behind them have been discussed, a notable concern surrounding the star running back is his substantial contract, particularly as he is in a contract year. Additionally, the Titans have shown confidence in their backup running back, Tyjae Spears. As the trade deadline approaches on Tuesday, October 31st at 4 PM EST, trade speculation continues to swirl.

In Week 8, Derrick Henry faces a challenging matchup against the Falcons. The Falcons have been tough against running backs, according to the fantasy football trends. They have yet to allow a single running back to accumulate over 100 scrimmage yards. Impressively, they are one of only two teams this season that have not conceded a rushing touchdown to a running back. Given this tough matchup and his low-scoring outputs, you might want to start to explore alternative options if available. Surprisingly, it may even be worth considering benching Derrick Henry this week, as he has achieved double-digit fantasy points in only two of his last four games, underlining the challenges he may face against the Falcons’ tough defense against running backs.
