Any given Sunday in the NFL gives us a whole new set of fantasy football trends each week. We have organized some of the big trends here in order to help you answer some of the questions you may have about these trending fantasy football players for NFL Week 7.

Zach Evans Fantasy Football Outlook; Rams’ RB Room Features Royce Freeman, Myles Gaskin, Darrell Henderson

Kyren Williams suffered an ankle injury and is expected to miss multiple games, and Ronnie Rivers was placed on IR with a knee injury. Now, we have to solve the mystery of the Rams’ running back room for this week and for the short-term future until Kyren Williams comes back.

As for this week, I see it being an RBBC (running back by committee) approach featuring the trio of Zach Evans and Royce Freeman, and Myles Gaskin or Darrell Henderson. My guess is the bulk of the rushing responsibilities are likely to fall on Evans, while Freeman is expected to handle pass-catching duties, with Henderson or Gaskin serving as the change-of-pace back and depth. Now, what makes this Week 7 matchup against the Steelers intriguing is that both the primary and secondary Rams running backs have scored at least 7.7 PPR points in the same game twice this year, and the Steelers have allowed the primary and secondary running back to score at least 4.5 PPR points in three of their last four games.

While this may not seem extensive, as previously mentioned, my expectation is that Evans will play the role of the primary ball carrier, making the Zach Evans fantasy outlook high. The Steelers have encountered difficulties when facing running backs who carry the ball 16 or more times, with three of them amassing over 100 scrimmage yards, including at least 80 rushing yards. And before Kyren Williams suffered the ankle injury he was on a roll. He had great performances in two of the last three games, where he rushed the ball at least 16 times, amassing over 100 rushing yards and scoring a touchdown.

Evans did struggle against the pass during preseason, but that’s where Royce Freeman comes in, as he has seen at least four or more targets in 11 career games. The Steelers haven’t really allowed receiving yards to running backs this season, but they are one of 15 teams to allow a receiving touchdown to a running back this season. The Rams have targeted a running back at least seven times in two games this season, and in one instance even scoring a receiving touchdown. I would start Zach Evans in fantasy football if you are in need of an RB2 this week, and Royce Freeman is in consideration for deeper PPR leagues. My main worry for this RBBC is that they will go with the hot hand, and we do not know how short any of these leashes are for Evans, Gaskin, or Henderson.

Julio Jones’ signing with the Eagles follows the unfortunate placement of Quez Watkins on IR due to a hamstring injury. This marks Jones’ fourth team in as many years. However, since departing from the Falcons after the 2021 season, he hasn’t managed to maintain an average of more than eight PPR fantasy points in a single season. While Julio undoubtedly brings valuable veteran experience and depth to the Eagles roster, his recent track record suggests that he may not be a high-impact player in terms of fantasy production.

In his last seven regular-season games with the Buccaneers, where he played behind Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, he only found the end zone once. This touchdown coincided with the sole double-digit PPR Julio Jones fantasy outcome during that stretch. Jones now finds himself in a similar situation, sharing the field with wide receivers AJ Brown and Devonta Smith. While he could serve as a valuable bench option in deeper fantasy leagues, it’s unlikely that he’ll see significant fantasy production unless there’s a substantial injury to the Eagles wide receiver corps.

Mecole Hardman Trade Back to Chiefs – Fantasy Football Pickup?

Mecole Hardman’s recent journey in the NFL took an unexpected turn when he had a rather unremarkable one-reception, six-yard total as a New York Jet before being traded to the Kansas City Chiefs. This move made sense for both parties involved. In New York, he found himself barely playing, and even being a healthy scratch. For the Chiefs, the reunion with Hardman addresses their ongoing struggles in the wide receiver department, where they’ve only managed to produce four touchdowns this season, a tally that equals what Hardman achieved as a Chief last year.

Hardman’s return to the Chiefs carries a sense of intrigue, especially considering his performance last year. He averaged a solid 11.7 PPR points per game over eight games, showcasing his potential in an offense known for explosive plays. It’s worth noting that this season there have been only two instances where a Chiefs wide receiver exceeded that PPR point threshold. For fantasy managers contemplating picking him up from the waiver wire, the Mecole Hardman fantasy football value resides on the fringe of your roster spot. Stashing him could prove worthwhile, particularly if you believe in his ability to recapture the magic of his previous stint with the Chiefs. However, if you urgently require a different player with more immediate significance to your team, Hardman could be the one to part ways with, considering the uncertain nature of his role and production in the Chiefs’ evolving offense.
