Week 1 Fantasy Football QB Streamers
Russell Wilson at Washington Commanders (3.7% Owned)
After he was named as the starting quarterback for the New York Giants, looking at Russell Wilson’s Week 1 matchup with the Washington Commanders could make one intrigued. Washington is coming off a season where it somewhat struggled in the pass game. In fact, they gave up 25 passing touchdowns last season. While the Giants don’t sport the flashiest offense in the NFL, Wilson has Malik Nabers at his disposal.
Given that the Giants should have somewhat of a decent run game with Tyrone Tracy at the helm, Wilson is more than likely to register a top-20 day at the quarterback position this week.
Geno Smith at New England Patriots (9.3% Owned)
Geno Smith is set to take over as the starting quarterback for the Las Vegas Raiders in a Pete Carroll-Chip Kelly offense in Week 1 against the New England Patriots. While Smith has quietly put together top-15 fantasy football quarterback numbers, he may be playing with the best running back and tight end of his career. Using Kelly’s up-tempo run scheme, New England will have to key in on Ashton Jeanty. Once the run game gets going, Smith can do what he does best and build off of the play-action.
Looking at the Patriots’ 27 touchdowns given up last season, it seems likely that Smith throws for at least two touchdowns in this game.
Daniel Jones vs. Miami Dolphins (4.1% Owned)
This is by far the least-sexy pick in this fantasy football streamers article, but there are some avenues to Daniel Jones registering a decent week. Jones beat out Anthony Richardson for the starting quarterback position in Indianapolis, and he gets to show immediately that he has the chops to start against a poor Miami Dolphins passing defense. Miami is very weak at the corner position to start the year, as Jalen Ramsey was shipped off to Pittsburgh in the offseason. With the addition of Tyler Warren, the Colts have a sneaky-solid receiving corps with Michael Pittman Jr. and Josh Downs.
Given the dysfunction in Miami right now, this is easily a game that they could drop, leading Daniel Jones to a big day.
