Fantasy Football Start or Sit: Week 4 QBs
Start: Sam Darnold at Cowboys
Team Name: Gosh Darnold
In three games with the Carolina Panthers, Sam Darnold has put up 19.1, 19.9 and 25.3 fantasy points and has scored twice each game, with three passing touchdowns and three rushing touchdowns. This week, he gets a matchup with the Cowboys, who are giving up 22.8 fppg to opposing QBs, in a game that should be close and has a total of 50.5. Without Christian McCaffrey in the backfield, Darnold will have to shoulder more of the load to keep up with the Cowboys’ offense. If you are looking for a streamer option this week at QB, Darnold makes a solid play.
Start: Kirk Cousins vs. Browns
Team Name: Captain Kirk
Ladies and gentlemen, presenting your QB6 through the first three weeks of the season. None other than Kirk Cousins, who has put up 22, 25.1 and 25.3 fantasy points each week and has thrown multiple touchdowns each game. This week, the Browns come to town and are giving up 20.2 fantasy points per game (fppg). The projected game total is also 52. Potentially without Dalvin Cook for another week, look for Cousins to sling it around as he has done very efficiently this season, with a 73% completion percentage. Lock in Cousins as a solid low-end QB1 this week.

Sit: Daniel Jones at Saints
Team Name: Game of Jones
While Daniel Jones has been a solid starter thus far as the QB10 on the season, averaging 22.5 fppg, this week he has a tough matchup on the road in the Saints’ homecoming game. The Saints are giving up only 12.8 fppg to opposing QBs and the Superdome is going to be rocking in the first game after Hurricane Ida. To make matters worse for Jones, his top three WR are all banged up. And while Kenny Golladay may suit up, he might be without Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton due to hamstring injuries and he is now down three starting OL from the opening day as well. You can do better at QB this week.
Sit: Jared Goff at Bears
Team Name: Turn to the Right and Goff
The QB14 through the first three weeks of the season, Jared Goff, will continue his descent down the leaderboard after starting off the season with 29.9 fantasy points against the 49ers. This week, he has a road matchup against the Bears, who are giving up only 18.2 fppg to opposing QBs in the game with the lowest total of the week, at 42. In three previous games against the Bears, Goff has averaged 12.5 fppg, with two touchdowns and five interceptions, and that was with the Rams. Now with the Lions, where two of Goff’s top two receivers are RBs, his best chance for fantasy football success will come on a long D’Andre Swift or Jamaal Williams run after the catch. Look elsewhere for your QB.
