Happy Holidays and congratulations on moving on in your fantasy football league! In most leagues, this is a semifinal round, which means you have to string together two more wins to take home your championship. This is the time of the season where you need to nail your lineup decisions, and for that, you have come to the right place.

This article is not here for the obvious plays, so if you have Justin Herbert, Patrick Mahomes or Aaron Rodgers, you know what to do. Instead, we will look at fantasy football QBs on the fringe of QB1/Streamer status to help you make the tough choices to win your matchups. Let’s get to it!

Fantasy Football Start or Sit: Week 16 QBs

Start: Dak Prescott vs. Washington Football Team

Team Name: Dak in the Saddle

It has been a December to forget for Dak Prescott, as he has put up 12, 12 and 11 fantasy points over the last three weeks, with a high of 238 passing yards over that time as well. If your team is still in it, you might be thinking about finding another QB this week, but doing so would be a mistake as you will miss his rebound game against the Football Team. Washington is dead last in fantasy points allowed to QB for the season, at 22 fantasy points per game (fppg), and Dak averages 26.2 fppg against them in home games in his career. Get him in your lineup this weekend.

Start: Russell Wilson vs. Bears

Team Name: Everyday I’m Russellin’

If you started Russell Wilson last week, there is a strong possibility that your team is no longer playing in the championship bracket. Depending on your fantasy football league scoring, he finished with between four and six fantasy points, but in his defense, he was missing Tyler Lockett and it was the Rams. This week, the matchup is much easier against the Bears, who over the last four weeks are second-worst in the league in QB fantasy points allowed, at 20.9 fppg. He will likely have Lockett back as well. Prior to last week, Wilson had put up 19, 18 and 21 fantasy points in his previous three games. If you survived last week, put him back in your lineup this weekend.

Sit: Tua Tagovailoa at Saints

Team Name: Just the Tua Us

Last week, Tua Tagovailoa was featured as a start and he finished QB12 on the week. From Week 6, when he returned from injury, to last week, he has been QB11. This week, however, if you have a better option, it would be advisable to go that route, as Tagovailoa has a tough matchup on the road with the Saints who just shut out Tom Brady last weekend and made Aaron Rodgers wish he had stayed on Jeopardy earlier this season. For the year, the Saints are allowing 17 fppg to opposing fantasy football QBs, but they are even tougher at home. Leave Tua on the bench this week.

Sit: Jared Goff at Falcons

Team Name: The GOFFather

Assuming he clears the new NFL protocols in time for kickoff this weekend, Jared Goff, who is coming off two QB1 performances in the past three weeks, looks to have a nice matchup against the Falcons, who are second-worst against fantasy football QBs, allowing 20.7 fppg. You may be tempted to stream him this week over a less productive option that may have burned you the last couple of weeks, see above, or another QB in a tougher matchup, but do you really think that starting Jared Goff in your fantasy semifinals is going to end well? Leave him on the bench/waivers this week.
