Week 9 fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em QB analysis from FlurrySports includes the likes of the New York Giants’ Jaxson Dart.
If you are in a situation where you need help in making some decisions on your starting quarterback this week, fret not, as I am giving you two players to start this week and two players to sit this week. Use the following Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em article as a guide when making those tough decisions at the quarterback position this week.
The elite quarterbacks, like Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes, will not be mentioned. Yes, start them. Who do they play? Doesn’t matter. Instead, we will be talking about the players who may be on the borderline of that starting lineup threshold. These are the players that you are debating on starting, or are sitting as QB2s on your bench.. So, depending on the matchup, they could be a start or a sit. Make sense?
Now, labeling a player as a “sit” does not mean they are a must-sit player. As always, check out our weekly fantasy football rankings here. You can also become a member to join a group chat with Zach Brunner and other members where all fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em questions are welcomed!

Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em: Week 9 QBs
Start: Jaxson Dart Fantasy Outlook vs 49ers
Jaxson Dart has played like the best rookie and probably sits atop the chart of the Offensive Rookie of the Year leaderboard. This is your sign to continue to ride that train this week as Dart is line for another big performance. To start the year, the 49ers might have seemed like a tough matchup. However, after the numerous injuries on the defensive side of the ball, that defense is much less scary. This season, the 49ers have given up 1,894 passing yards and 13 passing touchdowns. With the injuries on the defensive side of the ball, the 49ers have struggled to get pressure on opposing quarterbacks lately, giving Dart as much time as needed to make the right play.
On top of San Francisco’s injured defense, Dart’s rushing upside will play well this week. He has scored a rushing touchdown in four out of his five starts this season. Dart has also rushed for 50 yards in three of those starts. Without Cam Skattebo, Dart will need to be relied upon to manufacture some of the rushing offense on his own. The rushing upside alone makes Dart a must-start play this week.
Start: Drake Maye Fantasy Outlook vs Falcons
We can talk about the Patrick Mahomes and Daniel Jones of the world for the best quarterback storyline this season, but my favorite storyline is Drake Maye. After 20 years of dominance, Maye has made the Patriots likable again. He is playing good against everyone. Last week, against Cleveland’s daunted defense, Maye finished as QB2 on the week, throwing for three touchdowns. While the Falcons are not the easiest matchup in the league, it is starting to feel like Maye is getting to matchup-proof territory.
Last week, the tough Falcons defense gave up four touchdown passes to Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins defense. Everybody and their mother thought that Tagovailoa and the Dolphins were totally written off, but they shocked the world, and Miami came away with a major upset. In this matchup, the Patriots are a much better team, and Maye will be able to play as well as Tagovailoa did. Maye is averaging 22.5 fantasy points per game since Week 2 and is as efficient as anyone in throwing the ball downfield this season.

Sit: Bo Nix Fantasy Outlook at Texans
If you have been reading my Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em articles this year, you may notice a theme among my “sit” picks at quarterback. Do not play the quarterback who is going up against the Houston Texans this week if you do not have to. The Texans have been incredible against opposing quarterbacks this season, as the position is averaging just 11.6 fantasy points per game against Houston. As a whole, the Texans have actually taken in more interceptions than they have given up passing touchdowns this season.
If you drafted Bo Nix, you probably drafted him to be your lead quarterback this season. With his average play at best to start the year, you may have picked up a quarterback like Jaxson Dart to fill in. If that is the case, take the other quarterback this week. Based upon what we have seen this season, Houston is too good a passing defense to go against.
Sit: Jordan Love Fantasy Outlook vs Panthers
This may seem like an odd selection this week, as Jordan Love just finished Week 8 as QB1 after he destroyed the Pittsburgh Steelers. During that game, the Steelers had an obvious game plan of stopping the run and making Love beat them. While the Panthers should have that same plan this week, I do not think their front seven is good enough to do so. At some point, Green Bay’s run game is going to pop, and the team will ride it to a victory. It feels like this could be the week, as the Panthers have been bad against the run this season. On the flip side, they have been very good against the pass this season. Carolina is allowing fewer than 200 passing yards per game.
Green Bay should be able to win this game handily, as they are a much better team than Carolina. That will come on the back of a strong rushing attack. Green Bay will not need Love to light up the scoreboard in this game, as this is a game where they should sure up that rushing attack before a major matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 10.
