Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em: Week 8 RBs

Start: Raheem Mostert Fantasy Outlook vs. Lions

Raheem Mostert has the volume going for him, with 17, 19, 15 and 20 touches over the last four weeks. While the results have not always been there, see his games against the Cincinnati Bengals and Minnesota Vikings, where he put up 8.1 and 4.8 fantasy points, respectively. He has also delivered in games against the New York Jets, with 18.2, and Pittsburgh Steelers, with 16.9 fantasy points. With the Detroit Lions giving up 27.3 fantasy points per game (fppg) to opposing RBs, look for this to be another start-worthy performance.

Start: Michael Carter Fantasy Outlook vs. Patriots

Whether you had Michael Carter on your bench or spent your FAAB to acquire his services, you might as well get him in your lineup as James Robinson will surely cut into his workload and potentially usurp his position over the coming weeks. Even with a tougher matchup this week against the New England Patriots, who are only allowing 16.9 fppg to opposing RBs (seventh-fewest). Much like Mostert, the usage will be there. If you are missing one of the Chiefs or Chargers’ backs this week, Carter makes for a nice spot start.

Sit: Darrell Henderson Fantasy Outlook vs. 49ers

The Los Angeles Rams backfield, which has typically been a bastion of fantasy goodness under Sean McVay, has found tough sledding this season as they have been second-last in the league, averaging 70.5 yards rushing per game. This week, in a matchup with the San Francisco 49ers, who are giving up only 15.4 fppg to opposing RBs, and with Kyren Williams designated to return from IR and likely take on some of the receiving back duties, Darrell Henderson is best left on the bench.

Sit: Kareem Hunt Fantasy Outlook vs. Bengals

Unlike in previous years when both Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt were every week starters, this season Hunt has only had one game as an RB1, way back in Week 1, and one week as an RB2, in Week 5. This week, in a matchup with the Bengals, who are only giving up 16.0 fppg to opposing RBs, Hunt will have another week where he finishes outside of starting range.
