Week 5 fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em RB analysis from FlurrySports includes the likes of Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ RB Rachaad White.
Just when we thought we had a good idea of running back values in fantasy football, Week 5 has come to mess with us. For starters, it is the first round of byes, so players like Josh Jacobs and Bijan Robinson will be out. On top of that, we have gotten massive injury news about Bucky Irving and Trey Benson. It could get difficult to set a starting lineup you feel good about. However, this Week 5 Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em article is designed to help you decide on some of those tough lineup decisions.
No, you are not sitting a player like Derrick Henry, even if he has fumblitis or a tough matchup. Simply, start your studs! This article is designed to help solve some of those difficult RB2 or Flex questions you may have, with players who live in that grey area.
Now, labeling a player as a “sit” does not mean they are a must-sit player. As always, check out my weekly fantasy football rankings here. You can also become a member to join a group chat with me and other members where all fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em questions are welcomed!

Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em: Week 5 RBs
Start: Rachaad White Fantasy Outlook vs Seahawks
Zach Brunner’s Week 5 Fantasy Football Rankings
The Seahawks rank in the middle in terms of strength against fantasy football RBs. However, they have struggled to defend receivers out of the backfield. Through one month, no team has given up more receiving yards to opposing RBs (266). Seattle also hasn’t faced the best backfields, with their previous three games being against the Steelers, Saints and Cardinals.
The last time White saw more than 60% of the snaps, he had two touchdowns and 109 yards on 19 total touches. While I expect others to touch the ball in the backfield as well, White clearly is worth a look in your fantasy lineup this week.
Start: Woody Marks Fantasy Outlook at Ravens
This season, the Ravens’ defensive line injuries have been very apparent. Not only does Baltimore surrender 4.6 yards per carry, but they also give up the most fantasy points to RBs per game (35.1 in PPR). The Ravens’ run defense was bad, and now they will be missing inside linebacker Roquan Smith as well. Ouch.
This is a soft front that Houston will want to take advantage of, and I think they will have some success. Whether it is running or throwing the ball, Woody Marks should be involved, as he very clearly can do more with the ball in his hands than Nick Chubb. Let’s cross our fingers that Chubb doesn’t vulture a touchdown.

Sit: Isiah Pacheco Fantasy Outlook at Jaguars
There is no reason to start Isiah Pacheco until there is a major shakeup. In fact, many fantasy experts say Pacheco is droppable. That’s tough to argue against. Last week, Pacheco saw just 37% of the offensive snaps, surrendering playing time to Kareem Hunt and rookie Brashard Smith. This was not a one-week letdown either. Hunt leads the team in carries this season (36 to Pacheco’s 32). On top of that, Pacheco sees just 1.5 red zone looks per game, per the Opportunity Index. With that usage, it’s no wonder he has just one touchdown and seven first downs to his name this year.
The Chiefs’ rushing attack is not very good to begin with. So, to get a fraction of these touches, with nearly none of them coming in scoring range, means Pacheco is a “sit” in the Week 5 Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em.
Sit: Zach Charbonnet Fantasy Outlook vs Buccaneers
Several running backs are either hurt or on their bye week, forcing you to play one of the fantasy football RBs that you have kept on your bench. It makes sense to own Zach Charbonnet, due to Kenneth Walker’s injury history. However, you don’t need to take him off your bench this week.
This is not the matchup for Charbonnet, unfortunately. Yes, he will see half of Seattle’s backfield touches and snaps. However, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers give up just 3.3 yards per carry this season (No. 2 in the NFL). With Walker, at least he could break a play for massive yardage and save his fantasy day. With Charbonnet, he is a typical one-cut zone running back, and that won’t be efficient against this scheme. He would need a touchdown to save his fantasy day, and this is possible, but Tampa has given up just two touchdowns on the ground to RBs this year.
