Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em: Week 16 WRs

Start: JuJu Smith-Schuster Fantasy Outlook vs. Seahawks

JuJu Smith-Schuster has re-emerged as Patrick Mahomes’ go-to WR option, which is a great spot to be for fantasy purposes. Over the last two weeks, he had a game with nine catches for 74 yards and a touchdown then 10 catches for 88 yards last week. Despite a tough matchup against the Seattle Seahawks, who are only giving up 22.8 fantasy points per game (fppg) to opposing WRs, he continues to see plenty of targets, making him a locked-in WR2, especially with the bad weather sweeping through so many games this weekend.

Start: D.J. Moore Fantasy Outlook vs. Lions

This one is not for the faint of heart, but D.J. Moore has a great matchup against the Detroit Lions who allow 33.7 fantasy points per game fppg to opposing WRs. Moore has four catches for 103 yards and a touchdown and five catches for 73 yards and a touchdown in two of his three games with Sam Darnold at the helm. Unfortunately, he also has a zero-catch game. This should be a boom game for Moore, but he is probably best played if you are an underdog and need to roll the dice for some upside.

Sit: Amari Cooper Fantasy Outlook vs. Saints

In three games with Deshaun Watson, Amari Cooper has four catches for 40 yards, two catches for 42 yards and four catches for 58 yards. However, much like Watson is a recommended sit this week, so is Cooper in one of the worst game environments on the slate. With a projected total of 32.5 points, sub-freezing temperature and wind gusts of up to 60 miles per hour, you are best off leaving all of the passing game options on the bench in this one, especially when Cooper and Watson haven’t had much success together to this point anyway.

Sit: Allen Lazard Fantasy Outlook vs. Dolphins

Allen Lazard has not finished as a WR2 since Week 9, and this past week had his lowest usage of the season, where he caught one of two targets for seven yards. His role has shrunk, with Christian Watson’s emergence and Romeo Doubs back in the lineup as well as a resurgent Randall Cobb. Lazard has become an afterthought in the Packers’ offense and is not a WR2 option for Week 16. Even in a game that is safe from snow in Miami, you can certainly do better than Lazard, as the Packers look to stay alive in the playoff hunt.
