Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em: Week 16 QBs
Start: Trevor Lawrence Fantasy Outlook vs. Jets
After a tumultuous rookie season under the Urban Meyer regime, Trevor Lawrence has emerged this season looking every bit like the franchise quarterback he was labeled coming out of college. The long-maned signal caller for the Jacksonville Jaguars is the QB6 on the season. He has 12 touchdowns in his past four games, which includes one on the ground. While the New York Jets have been stout against opposing QBs, allowing only 15.0 fantasy points per game (fppg), Lawrence is tough to keep out of your lineup and makes for a solid QB1 this week once again.

Start: Daniel Jones Fantasy Outlook vs. Vikings
Coming off of his worst performance since Week 8, Daniel Jones is now back in play this week in an indoors matchup with the Minnesota Vikings’ fantasy-friendly defense. The Vikings are allowing 19.7 fppg to opposing QBs, and Jones, who is the QB11 on the season, makes for a solid QB1 play this week even with your season on the line. While it may be tough to trust him due to his inconsistency on the year, with this nice matchup inside the climate-controlled U.S. Bank Stadium and his rushing ability, Jones is a fairly safe option for Week 16.

Sit: Deshaun Watson Fantasy Outlook vs. Saints
Deshaun Watson has three games under his belt now with the Cleveland Browns and exactly zero QB1 performances. He has looked better after his first start and does have nearly 30 fantasy points in his last two games. However, with your playoffs on the line, he is not a recommended start in what is shaping up to be a terrible passing game environment against the New Orleans Saints. The wind gusts for this game could reach up to 60 miles per hour and the projected game total is an abysmal 32.5 points. Unfortunately for fantasy owners who were banking on production from Watson, it is looking more and more like that is not going to happen.
Sit: Derek Carr Fantasy Outlook vs. Steelers
Counting on Derek Carr in the fantasy playoffs is risky business, as Carr has had several stinkers this year, including games of 2.9 and 4.6 fantasy points. That is a floor that you simply cannot risk when playing for your league championship. On top of this risk, this game is also shaping up to have some inclement weather, with single-digit temperatures and wind gusts as well as snow looming. Conditions like this clearly favor the home team and with a projected total of 38 points, this is another game to shy away from the passing attacks. This fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em article suggests you keep Carr on your bench.
