Week 16 fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em QB analysis from FlurrySports includes the likes of Jacoby Brissett of the Arizona Cardinals.
Have we ever had this many questions at the fantasy football quarterback position in Week 16 that we have this season? Terrible matchups, players benched, underperformers, and major injuries have decimated the position, leading to a ton of question marks to tackle. The following Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em will hopefully answer some of the questions in that “grey area” of the rankings for this week.
No, I won’t be telling you start Josh Allen, sit Cam Ward, or tuck you in and kiss you goodnight. You’re smart enough to figure out the obvious decisions. Instead, we will discuss the players you truly have questions on whether you should start or sit them this week!
Now, labeling a player as a “sit” does not mean they are a must-sit player. As always, check out our weekly fantasy football rankings here. You can also become a member to join a group chat with me, and other members, where all fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em questions are welcomed!

Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em: Week 16 QBs
Start: Jacoby Brissett Fantasy Outlook vs Falcons
Zach Brunner’s Week 16 Fantasy Football Rankings
It was a tough decision, but many decided to sit Jacoby Brissett last week against the Houston Texans. He went on to put up a solid fantasy performance! In Week 16, we will feature him as a “start” in the Week 16 Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em! This is an Atlanta Falcons defense that can be picked on a little bit.
The Falcons are 15th against fantasy quarterbacks and have allowed 6.4 yards per pass attempt this season, which is average. However, Brissett has proven that he can make even above-average defenses look silly this season. Jacoby Brissett faced the Los Angeles Rams and Houston Texans defenses the past two weeks, and it resulted in his worst finishes of the year. He was QB12 in both weeks. He has been a top-10 fantasy quarterback in six of his nine starts.
With Marvin Harrison Jr. possibly back as well, combined with yet another running back injury, look for Brissett and the Cardinals to sling it against Atlanta.
Start: CJ Stroud Fantasy Outlook vs Raiders
It was a tough start to the season for the Houston Texans and CJ Stroud, but now they are playing like one of the most feared teams in the NFL. This week, he faces a terrible Las Vegas Raiders team while having a depleted backfield, with both Nick Chubb and Woody Marks hurt. This could lead to a bit more passing than a usual game with an opponent this bad.
The Raiders are ninth-worst in yards per pass attempt allowed (6.9) and second-worst in completion rate allowed (69.2%). It’s clear that Stroud should be able to pass it against them if he would like to. The Raiders’ run defense is also pretty good, allowing just 3.9 yards per carry. So, we could see Houston decide to pass a bit more freely. Even three strong quarters out of CJ Stroud before pulling the starters should be good enough for a start in fantasy football.

Sit: Trevor Lawrence Fantasy Outlook at Broncos
Trevor Lawrence fantasy owners just got a career game from the Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback, and he is likely a large reason why you are still alive in the fantasy playoffs. It may not feel right, but Lawrence is a “sit” in the Week 16 Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em.
Lawrence is playing the best football of his career, but this matchup is too scary not to bring up. The Denver Broncos are outstanding. The Broncos rank third in yards per pass attempt allowed (5.6) and second in sack percentage this season (10.6%). Not only does Denver feature an outstanding secondary, but their pass rush is also historic. So, Trevor Lawrence will be under pressure quickly, passing against a secondary that will blanket the receivers. Clearly, this is a bad combo for Jacksonville.
They are the sixth-best team against fantasy quarterbacks, so Trevor Lawrence may need a big day with his legs in order to be startable for the fantasy football playoffs. I don’t want to rely on that.
Sit: Caleb Williams Fantasy Outlook vs Packers
Caleb Williams is facing off against a Green Bay Packers defense that just saw him in Week 14 (I hate NFL schedulemakers). Yes, this defense looks very different and is much worse without Micah Parsons. However, they just saw Williams up close and personal, hearing his calls at the line of scrimmage and gaining knowledge on some of his “tells.” It will be very tough for him to have success against them on such a short turnaround, especially when he sucks (Go Pack Go).
On top of this, as of Wednesday night, Rome Odunze and Luther Burden III have not practiced this week. This game is on Saturday, so Thursday’s practice will be important. If he is missing both playmakers, this hurts the Chicago Bears’ passing offense pretty tremendously.
