Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em: Week 14 TEs
Start: Luke Schoonmaker or Jake Ferguson Fantasy Outlook vs Cincinnati Bengals
Whoever gets the start for the Dallas Cowboys at tight end should be in your lineup. Jake Ferguson has been out due to a concussion for the last two games. Luke Schoonmaker has filled in pretty nicely for him even with Dak Prescott out. Ferguson will have an extra three days to get healthy due to the “mini bye” from the Cowboys Thanksgiving Day game. If he is still out, Schoonmaker will be ready to go.
On the flip side of the ball is the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals have given up the second-most points on average to the tight end position this season, with 16.55 points per game throughout the season. In their last three games, they have given up three 18-point games to Mark Andrews, Will Dissly and Pat Freiermuth, respectively. Cooper Rush may need to use the TE safety valve this week, so start Schoonmaker/Ferguson.
Start: Sam LaPorta Fantasy Outlook vs. Green Bay Packers
Sam LaPorta is back on as a start this week. Last week, the Detroit Lions tight end went for three receptions and six yards, but two of those receptions were touchdowns. Jared Goff is finding him in the right places and LaPorta is taking advantage of his targets in the red zone. LaPorta did not have a good game at all the first time these two teams faced off, but maybe the Green Bay defense will help him the second time around.
The Green Bay Packers are coming off a Thursday night game where they got torched by Jonnu Smith. The week before that, they got torched by George Kittle. In the last two games, the Packers have allowed 40 points to tight ends. LaPorta might not get to the 20-point mark like Smith and Kittle, but he should put up decent numbers. Start LaPorta this week.

Sit: Will Dissly Fantasy Outlook vs. Kansas City Chiefs
A guy who is probably a streamer this week for many people will be a sit for us. Will Dissly has had two games over the 10-point mark this season. Every other game has been at less than seven points, including a zero-point dud last week against the Atlanta Falcons. You would hope that after the Baltimore game his snap percentage would go up, but it dropped last week and he only had one target.
The Kansas City Chiefs have allowed the third-most fantasy points this season, but looking at their last four they have done better (outside of last week). In Week 10, Kansas City allowed just over four points to both Adam Trautman and Lucas Krull, eight points to Dawson Knox in Week 11 and under eight to Ja’Tavion Sanders in Week 12. That is an average of just over six points per game. Dissly is no Brock Bowers so more than likely he will be shut down like the others. Leave Dissly on the bench this week.
Sit: Tucker Kraft Fantasy Outlook vs. Detroit Lions
Same song second verse when it comes to Tucker Kraft against the Detroit Lions. Five weeks ago, Tucker Kraft was a sit for us in the first matchup between these two teams. In that matchup, Kraft had just over five points at Lambeau Field. Since then, he has been decent, but nothing spectacular.
The change for the Lions is that they have gone from second-fewest to the fewest points given up to tight ends. In the four games since they last played, the Lions have given up under six points to Dalton Schultz, Evan Engram, Drew Ogletree and Cole Kmet. Detroit’s defense has been putting the clamps on tight ends and that should continue this week. Kraft should ride the pine for fantasy.
