Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em: Week 12 RBs

Start: Jeff Wilson Jr. Fantasy Outlook vs. Texans

Before the Miami Dolphins’ bye, Jeff Wilson Jr. had 17 carries and five targets in the passing game, compared to Raheem Mostert’s eight carries and four targets. It looks like Wilson will be the 1A to Mostert’s 1B, and we are likely looking at a similar split or even greater after Wilson has had a chance to work into the offense more over the bye. This week, with a terrific matchup against the Houston Texans, who are giving up 28.9 fantasy points per game (fppg) to opposing RBs, start Jeff Wilson in fantasy football with confidence, as he will return RB2 value at a minimum.

Start: Devin Singletary Fantasy Outlook vs. Lions

Devin Singletary is coming off of a season-high for carries (18) and two receptions, which he turned into 97 yards and a touchdown good for an RB10 finish. He has finished as an RB2 or better in his last three games and six of his last eight. Once again this week, he gets to play in Detroit at Ford Field. This time, he gets the added benefit of playing against the Detroit Lions defense, which although they did do a great job last week against Saquon Barkley, this week will have to focus their attention on Josh Allen.

Sit: Samaje Perine Fantasy Outlook vs. Titans

Okay, so you just spent your FAAB money on Samaje Perine in hopes that he would be a one-week starter and now here he is in the “sit” side of this week’s fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em. What gives?

Perine finished last week as the RB2 overall largely on the strength of his four receptions for 52 yards and three touchdowns. This week, however, the Tennessee Titans are a tough draw, allowing only 16.2 fppg to opposing RBs on the season. With their pass defense being among the league-worst, expect Joe Burrow to do most of the heavy lifting, making Perine a flex play at best.

Sit: Cordarrelle Patterson Fantasy Outlook vs. Commanders

Since exploding back onto the scene returning from an injury with two touchdowns in Week 9, Cordarrelle Patterson has been relatively quiet with only five carries for 18 yards and one reception for two yards as an encore. Last week, he had 10 carries for 52 yards and two receptions for seven yards, which would have been back-to-back disappointing weeks in not for his kickoff return.

With Tyler Allgeier having eight carries each of the last two weeks and Marcus Mariota having 13 last week, this is the equivalent of a three-man committee at RB for the Falcons. Atlanta has a tougher matchup this week against the Commanders, who are allowing only 17.1 fppg to opposing backs. Flex Patterson if you must, but consider yourself warned.
